The Siemens EQ700 classic is a feature-rich bean-to-cup machine with a 19 bar pump, ceramic grinder, a large touchscreen, Home Connect app control and around 19 drinks including Cold Brew. Owners rate the coffee taste, ease of use and customisation highly. The big caveat is temperature: many users find milk drinks, and sometimes black coffee, only lukewarm. Milk is drawn by hose from your own jug rather than a built-in container, and frequent rinsing fills the drip tray quickly. The Piano black TP713GB9 and Morning haze TP715GB1 are the same machine, and the Morning haze version currently sells for far less, so it is the obvious choice. Long-term reliability is not established, as no independent test was found and only isolated faults are reported.

What the features mean in everyday use.
TP713GB9 (Piano black) and TP715GB1 (Morning haze) are the same EQ700 classic machine in two finishes; the manufacturer tables are identical apart from weight (9.1 kg vs 9.2 kg) and cup lighting (only TP715GB1).
19 bar pump, 1500 W, 2.4 l removable water tank, 320 g bean container, ceramic grinder with 6 grind settings; no funnel for pre-ground coffee.
Milk is drawn through a hose from a separate jug or carton; there is no milk container in the box. Milk nozzle and tube are dishwasher-safe and the milk system is steam-rinsed automatically (autoMilk Clean).
TFT full-touch iSelect display, 19 listed drinks including Cold Brew, adjustable strength, size, milk ratio and aroma profile (aromaSelect), OneTouch DoubleCup and Home Connect app control.
TP713GB9 (Piano black) is listed at about £1,299-£1,300 at Siemens UK, Currys, John Lewis and Argos and at £999.97 from a third-party seller on Amazon UK, while TP715GB1 (Morning haze) is £579 at Currys and Amazon UK and about £649 at Argos and John Lewis.
Applies to one variant
Because the two codes share the same specification, the Morning haze TP715GB1 gives the same machine for far less than the black TP713GB9 currently costs, under half its price at the main high-street retailers.
Applies to one variant
The most frequent complaint across Currys, John Lewis, Argos and Amazon reviews is that milk drinks, and sometimes black coffee, come out lukewarm; reviewers report preheating cups or milk, or microwaving drinks, and two John Lewis reviewers say the manufacturer suggested this.
Many reviewers praise the coffee taste and strength, several comparing it favourably with previous Gaggia, De'Longhi or Philips LatteGo machines.
Reviewers often describe the touchscreen and menus as intuitive and the machine as easy to set up and use.
Users like the Home Connect app (remote start, favourites) and the ability to tweak strength, size, milk ratio and aroma.
Some reviewers dislike having no integrated milk container and needing a separate jug; others prefer it because milk stays in the fridge.
Several reviewers say the machine rinses often, uses a lot of water and the drip tray and grounds container need emptying frequently.
Isolated fault reports: one machine tripped the electrics and failed within six months (needing a part), one was returned for false 'add beans'/'empty drip tray' warnings, one touchscreen froze, and one reviewer reported a leak under the drip tray. Long-term durability is not established.
One reviewer notes a 260 ml maximum per drink, so a large mug needs two cycles; others mention the water filter being hard to fit or bought separately, and sparse instructions.
Automatic rinsing and maintenance prompts are praised, but one reviewer objects to having to clean the milk tube and spout through several button presses after each use.
A share of the reviews on Argos and John Lewis are syndicated from the Siemens site and some are marked as collected in a promotion or incentivised.
A few reviewers find the machine large on the worktop or awkward to refill.

User experience
See the common points first, then read the original reviews yourself.
Summarised from the 102 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 102.
Owners mostly like the coffee itself: strong, café-style espresso-based drinks, a wide menu including Cold Brew, and easy tweaking of strength, size, milk ratio and aroma. The touchscreen and Home Connect app are widely described as intuitive, and automatic rinsing keeps cleaning simple. The dominant complaint is temperature: many find milk drinks lukewarm and some say even black coffee is only warm, with workarounds such as preheating cups or microwaving drinks; a few returned the machine for this. Other recurring niggles are the lack of a milk container (milk comes from a jug via a hose), frequent rinsing that fills the drip tray quickly, a large footprint and a 260 ml per-drink limit. A handful report faults such as an electrical failure, false sensor warnings, a frozen screen or a leak.
Summarised from 102 reviews. The summary is drawn from opinions that recur in the reviews read; each theme shows how many reviews mention it. These counts are not a rate and do not apply to every unit.
Unique text reviews per store: Argos 20 (newest 10 per listing), Currys/Feefo 52 (TP713GB9/TP715GB1 SKUs only; 14 rating-only excluded), John Lewis 41 (all), Amazon UK 12 (top UK reviews) = 125. 23 cross-store copies of Siemens-syndicated reviews, matched by text, removed = 102. This machine is an absolute joy. Once you e selected your drink on the touch screen, you can then "tweak" the settings to adjust strength, cup size, milk ratio and aroma.

C*** 5/5 10 March 2026 Argos EQ700 classic, Piano black
…there was some negative feedback on this machine but I really looked into it and found that they were user issues. The overall quality is very good… My only negative is that I had to order a water filter separately before I decided to use it…

I bought this coffee machine a couple of weeks ago and it's very simple to use and it makes a great coffee. No issues with the temperature of the drinks either

It's a nice piece of kit. Love the interactivty of the APP. When it comes down to you cuppa in the morning it's a little less impressive. YOU ABSOLUTLY NEED TO PREHEAT YOUR MUG/CUP!! Even then the contents seems to be tepid and definitly not hot.
A*** T*** 4/5 21 January 2025 Argos TP715GB1; syndicated from Siemens site
Really nice looking and clean aesthetic for this machine. The downside is that the tray needs emptying almost after every second coffee. It's rinsing way more often than any other machines I've used in the past. There is not a setting to check the grinding level… Other than that, a great machine and the app is quite useful as well.
M*** 5/5 6 November 2025 Argos EQ700 classic, Morning haze
…But missing one feature - preparing beverages from ground coffe. But milk frothing is very comfortable… just wipe and then automatic function with rinsing make cleaning easier. I can compare it with krups 8180 and Maelitta CL touch. Siemens winning.

Lovely looking machine Pro’s: easy to use, lots of option great tasting coffee Con’s: milk is cold, if you preheat the milk it doesn’t froth if it’s room temperature or cold it froths perfectly but doesn’t change the temperature. The milk drinks come out cold enough for a child…

T*** 2/5 25 July 2026 John Lewis EQ700 classic, Piano black
Fine if you like milk-free coffees but doesn't heat milk anywhere near enough. Apparently this is not a fault - manufacturer's suggested fix is to microwave the milk first. Unbelievable. Avoid!
Customer 4/5 13 January 2026 John Lewis EQ700 classic, Piano black

m*** 5/5 3 September 2026 Amazon EQ700 classic, Piano black
Great coffee machine and so easy to use. We had a Philips LatteGo 5400 before this, and it didn't make very nice coffee, and the milk froth was a weird texture, so we returned it for this and we didn't regret it.
m*** 5/5 12 September 2026 Amazon TP715GB1 Morning Haze
This is an excellent machine and far superior to my previous Gaggia machine. It uses a lot of water rinsing every time but at least it keeps the muck out of your coffee. Love the way you can customise your coffee and the app that goes with it.
