The Eletta Cappuccino ECAM44.660.B is a straightforward bean-to-cup machine from De'Longhi's older Eletta generation. It has a 15 bar pump, a 2 l tank, a conical burr grinder and the LatteCrema Hot automatic milk carafe, and makes 8 one-touch hot drinks. UK owners consistently praise the coffee, the easy day-to-day use and the self-cleaning milk system, and many buy it to replace an earlier De'Longhi. The recurring drawback is milk drinks that come out warm rather than hot, plus a set-up learning curve, regular descaling and a fairly bulky body. A handful of early failures are reported alongside owners whose previous unit lasted 8 to 10 years; no independent long-term reliability test was found. It suits households that want easy milky coffees at the touch of a button. Prices vary widely between UK retailers, and a newer Eletta generation is available.

What the features mean in everyday use.
The UK ECAM44.660.B is a 1450 W bean-to-cup machine with a 15 bar pump, a removable 2 l water tank and an integrated conical steel burr grinder. It also accepts pre-ground coffee.
It uses De'Longhi's LatteCrema Hot automatic milk carafe, which is cleaned automatically after each milk drink. It makes 8 one-touch drinks: espresso, long coffee, cappuccino, caffelatte, latte macchiato, flat white, hot milk and hot water. It has no manual steam wand and no cold-milk drinks.
It measures 26 x 36 x 46 cm (W x H x D) and takes cups up to 140 mm tall.
Coffee quality is the most frequent praise in UK reviews. Owners describe great or excellent coffee, good crema and well-made milky drinks, especially once strength and volumes are set to taste.
Many reviewers find it easy to use day to day, with one-touch drinks and customisable strength, size and temperature. Several had moved from pod machines or older De'Longhi models.
Owners value the self-cleaning milk system and the fact that the carafe can be stored in the fridge. Several say it is easy to keep clean.
The most common complaint is that milk drinks are only warm, not hot. One reviewer measured milk at around 45–47 °C, and another sent the machine back. Some owners say raising the temperature setting and pre-warming cups helps.
A number of buyers say it takes time to set up and tune grind, strength and volumes. A few found it harder to use than their previous machine, or found the espresso weaker.
A small number of UK reviews report faults: units returned within one to two months as not working, a grinder failure after about two years (repaired), and a restart loop after under two years that was not fixed by a De'Longhi repair. Other owners report a previous unit of the same model lasting 8 to 10 years.
Owners point out that it needs regular rinsing, descaling and emptying of the grounds. One reviewer in a hard-water area was asked to descale roughly every two weeks, with each cycle taking 30–45 minutes and about 4 litres of water.
Some reviewers would like more drinks or features: no dedicated espresso-shot setting, a single cup only for pre-ground coffee, and no manual steam option. One reviewer criticised the generic help videos.
Several owners find it quieter than their previous bean-to-cup machine. One reviewer called it very noisy.
Some reviewers note it is a large, chunky machine and advise checking the dimensions. Another said it fits under wall units.
On 31 October 2026, AO, Boots Kitchen Appliances and Very all listed it at £899 in stock. Amazon.co.uk had it at £490.03 from a third-party seller with one unit left. The De'Longhi UK store showed £349 but out of stock.
This is an older Eletta generation: Amazon.co.uk flags an Eletta Explore (ECAM452.67.G) as the newer version. The very different prices between retailers suggest stock is being run down, so the £899 listings look like list price rather than the market price.
It comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty for domestic use. AO says it must be registered with De'Longhi within 28 days of purchase.
Reviewers who bought it on offer often describe it as good value. Some still consider the full price high.

Summarised from the 96 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 96.
UK owners mostly praise the coffee itself: rich, fresh-tasting espresso and long coffees, and well-made cappuccinos and lattes from the automatic milk carafe once strength and volumes are set up. Day-to-day use is described as simple, and the automatic rinse of the milk system makes cleaning easy. Many buyers are replacing an older De'Longhi and several find this one quieter. The most repeated complaint is that milk drinks come out warm rather than hot, which put a few buyers off entirely. Others mention a learning curve when setting up, frequent descaling and emptying, a large footprint and a fairly basic drinks menu. A few report early failures or a grinder fault, while others say a previous unit of the same model lasted many years. Buyers who got it on offer generally consider it good value.
Summarised from 96 reviews. The summary is drawn from opinions that recur in the reviews read; each theme shows how many reviews mention it. These counts are not a rate and do not apply to every unit.
96 = 88 unique English Feefo reviews with text (s7 page 1: 64, s8 page 2: 24; AO and De'Longhi UK, ECAM44.660.B) + 8 unique Amazon.co.uk UK reviews (s3). Excluded: 30 rating-only Feefo entries, 10 non-English Feefo reviews and 5 Amazon other-country reviews. Theme counts were tallied by hand, mostly from review openings. Amazon's AI summary was compared and matches the sample on milk temperature.

I have had this machine for less than two years. It worked well until recently and I was quite happy with it. However it developed a fault. It was stuck in a a sequence where it would continuously shut down and restart, making it impossible to make a coffee. I contacted De'Longhi and returned the machine for a repair. When it was returned the fault had not been fixed. Although I could make a coffee the continuous stopping and starting was still a problem. I could not recommend this machine based on its long term performance and poor customer service.
R*** 4/5 18 August 2026 Amazon Colour: Black
I've had my machine for just over a year now and overall am very happy with it. It produces extremely good coffee but this is obviously dependant on the quality of the beans that you use. I mainly drink espresso and Americano coffee but occasionally will have a cappuccino which it does very well once you have got it set up to your required volumes. My only niggles are, the temperature of the milk is nowhere near hot enough and the "empty grounds container" message that is very intrusive and TBH a real pain in the rear. Would I buy again, most definitely yes.
F*** 5/5 19 February 2026 Amazon Colour: Black
Significantly quieter than the Magnifica for not much more cost. This is a serious bean to cup coffee machine with various easy options. One cup. Two cup. Mild, medium, strong, extra strong. Small cup, medium, large, extra large.…Best of all the resulting coffee has super taste and a genuine crema.…An excellent machine. Can't fault it.
S*** 5/5 16 December 2022 Amazon Colour: Black
There are only 3 negatives I can point out so far: 1. The machine has to be regularly rinsed and descaled, meaning it uses more water than probably most other coffee making options. 2. We have an average of about 4-6 coffees a day. The machine asks for a descale roughly every 2 weeks. The descaling process is about 30-45 mins and uses about 4l of water.…Overall we are really enjoying this machine and are so glad we bought it!
A*** C*** 5/5 19 December 2021 Amazon Colour: Black
Some reviews state the coffee is not that hot. It is not boiling hot, but if you put the temperature setting on high and warm cups on the tray, then it is a good temperature to drink.…Now I have this, I cant live without it. A must for any home!
T*** D*** 5/5 4 April 2018 Amazon Colour: Black
The coffee is truly excellent, it’s incredibly easy to use and its very fun to be able to choose an option and just press a button to get a great tasting coffee. It is a bit of a monster and takes up a fair amount of space so be warned if you have a small kitchen.…In conclusion, yes it’s very expensive but it makes a whole lotta great coffee.
B*** a*** S*** 5/5 25 October 2023 Amazon Colour: Black
The Eletta is 90% effortless. 10% not awarded because duh, you have to put water in frequently (not every time you use it, but at least once a day) and you have to offer it some basic maintenance like emptying the grounds, wiping the tray. However this is a small price to pay for the perfect coffees every time.…As for noise, I can’t say I find it annoying- it is a grinder after all.
M*** 5/5 17 January 2018 Amazon Colour: Black
- very easy to use and saves a lot of time with one touch for most popular drinks - ability to customise drinks to suit your taste - automatic frother works very well and has several settings for the different drinks… Points to note - check the dimensions - we have not yet had the joy of performing maintenance on this. But these machines will require regular filters, decalc and cleaning - grinders are never going to be silent

Great machine. So easy to use and makes lovely drinks. Could have a few more drink options but the basics are there and you can personalise your drink strength and style so easily.

This purchase was a replacement for the previous model that lasted 8 years and over 15000 coffees. A really good machine hence the identical replacement. Would recommend it, but check the price as it does vary from one source to another.

Very very noisy.
R*** 5/5 12 April 2026 ao-retail-ltd (Feefo)
Replaced a magnifica model and well impressed with all the later developments, the larger milk carafe, the flush through milk delivery spout after every cup minimising milk deposit build along with the simpler milk delivery, better coffee selection for individual preferences, absolutely love this new machine.
Customer 4/5 9 April 2026 ao-retail-ltd (Feefo)
Overall pleased with the machine. The milk container can be stiff to push on to the machine. The on/off switch should be easier to see as my elderly husband struggles to find it
l*** 4/5 No date ao-retail-ltd (Feefo)
Great product, self cleans, the components all fit and click together very smoothly, feels high quality. Only slight knock is coffee isn't boiling hot and there is no espresso shot feature. Other than that for the discounted price, excellent value.
Customer 4/5 17 February 2026 ao-retail-ltd (Feefo)
Only 4 stars as hot milk alone really not very hot.
B*** 4/5 10 February 2026 ao-retail-ltd (Feefo)
It’s great and my first coffee machine, my sister has a similar machine from DeLonghi but hers is definitely easier to use. She has the fully automatic Evo. I really wish that the milk was more hotter, I like mine extra hot. Overall a good machine and would recommend

Really great machine. This replaced an older De'Longhi machine that had worked day in day out for us for the last 5 years. This new machine is quieter than the old one, holds more beans, and the milk frother is awesome. Love it.

The De'Longhi Eletta Cappuccino is a sleek automatic bean-to-cup machine offering plenty of beverage customisation, an integrated grinder, and an interchangeable milk carafe. While it can be slightly noisy when heating up and the milk spout cleaning cycle can be messy and leave steam streaks, it remains a versatile option for modern kitchens.

Where the information comes from, by type; each finding also links its own source.
This page is compiled from manufacturer, store, review and video sources; every piece of information links to the source it was read from. Technical values are as stated by the manufacturer or store; user experiences are summarised from the reviews read and do not apply to every unit. We do not test products ourselves.
