Before you decide
Questions to ask before you choose
Do you drink milk-based coffee?
Some machines froth milk automatically from a jug or carafe; others have a manual steam wand, and some make black coffee only. The specifications on each page say which milk system the model has.
How much cleaning are you happy to do?
Bean to cup machines need regular rinsing, descaling and, on some models, a removable brew unit to wash. Owners' experiences with cleaning and maintenance are in each page's review summary.
How much coffee do you make in a day?
A larger water tank and bean hopper mean fewer refills for a busy household. Capacities on the product pages come from the manufacturer's specification sheet.
