The Breville Prima Latte AutoLuxe (VCF195 in black; also sold as white VCF194, grey VCF205 and oatmilk VCF206) is a fully automatic bean-to-cup machine. It stands out for two switchable bean hoppers, hot and iced drinks with hot or cold milk foam, four user profiles and front access to its tanks. Early owners praise the coffee, the drink variety and the easy cleaning. They criticise the noise, the learning curve and hard-to-read manual, small default drink sizes and value at full price. Retailers publish conflicting figures for power and tank size. It suits households that share a machine but want different coffees, including decaf and iced drinks. It is less suited to small kitchens, quiet early mornings or anyone wanting large mugs in one go. Long-term reliability is unknown: there is no independent lab test and nearly all reviews are from early free or incentivised testers.

Applies to the model family
Breville claims over 200 hot and cold drink combinations, including iced coffee brewed over ice. Strength, temperature and cup size are adjustable, and hot or cold milk foam can be added. Retailers list 12 one-touch presets.
EasySwitch dual bean hoppers feed an integrated grinder, so two coffees (for example regular and decaf) can be kept loaded at once.
Up to 4 user profiles each save cup size, coffee strength and milk type.
The machine has dishwasher-safe parts, a one-touch descaling cycle and Auto Purge. Its front-facing layout gives access to the water and milk tanks without moving the machine.
Retailer specifications disagree. Power is 1350 W at Currys and 1470 W at Argos. The water tank is 1.4 L at Currys, 1.8 L at Amazon and 1.9 L at Argos. Auto-off is 15 or 19 minutes. Currys also lists a steam wand, portafilter, filter baskets and tamper, which do not match the manufacturer description or the Argos box contents.
Three UK retailers give roughly 40 cm high, 41 cm wide and 49 cm deep. Currys lists a weight of 12.49 kg.
Most reviewers praise the taste and strength of the coffee and describe it as coffee-shop quality.
Many reviewers find cleaning straightforward thanks to auto purge, descaling and removable parts. One reviewer found the daily routine of purging, milk-tank cleaning, puck bin and drip trays a chore.
Noise comes up repeatedly, from 'a little on the noisy side' to 'like a jet engine'. A few reviewers think it is normal for grinding and frothing, or find it reasonably quiet.
Several reviewers report a learning curve and find the printed manual hard to follow or read. Two mention small print on a grey background.
Some reviewers find drinks small even on the largest setting and run the machine twice. Others say calibrating cup size took trial and error.
Views on size are mixed. Several reviewers call it large or bulky and say it needs a lot of worktop space. Others call it compact for what it does.
Many reviewers call it expensive. Some see it as a long-term investment against coffee-shop spending, while others feel the flaws do not justify the price.
Switching hoppers needs a purge, which one reviewer felt wastes beans. Milk left in the container after a latte, and fast bean use, were also mentioned.
Isolated reports describe milk foam and strength varying on the same setting, a water-empty warning at half full, no bean-empty warning, and a puck-bin light staying on after emptying.
Reviewers often praise the modern, premium look. The front access to tanks is valued by those who used to pull machines forward to refill them.
The reviews available are from the launch period (September-October 2026). Most were given free or incentivised: Amazon Vine, Feefo product testers, and a Breville.co.uk promotion syndicated to Argos. Long-term reliability is not yet covered.
Which? does not list the AutoLuxe among its tested Breville coffee machines. T3 has covered it only as launch news.
Breville UK lists all colours at £649.00. Currys and Amazon.co.uk sell the black VCF195 at £649.99, and Argos sells the grey VCF205 at £649.99. An Amazon deal at £449.99 was posted in early October 2026 and has since expired.

See the common points first, then read the original reviews yourself.
Summarised from the 21 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 21.
Early owners mostly like the coffee, which many describe as coffee-shop quality. They also like the choice of hot and iced drinks, the dual bean hoppers for switching between regular and decaf, the front-access tanks and the easy cleaning with auto purge and descaling. The main complaints are noise, a learning curve with a manual that is hard to read, and drinks that come out smaller than expected even on large settings. The machine takes up more worktop than some expected. Several reviewers question value for money, and a few mention wasted beans when switching hoppers, inconsistent milk foam and unreliable empty-tank or bean warnings. Nearly all reviews come from free or incentivised early testers, so durability is untested.
Summarised from 21 reviews. The summary is drawn from opinions that recur in the reviews read; each theme shows how many reviews mention it. These counts are not a rate and do not apply to every unit.
Unique review texts were counted by author, date and text. Amazon.co.uk: 8 (each review appears twice in the page text and was deduplicated). Argos: 10 of 12 shown. Currys: 3 from the Feefo feed. No rating-only entries were counted. Amazon covers black and white colours and Argos covers grey. No store AI summary was present.

When it works well, the coffee tastes really nice. But consistency is a big issue: the amount of milk and thickness of foam changes every time, even on the exact same setting. Coffee strength varies too.
E*** P*** 3/5 27 October 2026 Currys Black VCF195; product tester
It is a big machine, ok for bigger kitchens with open spaces but if space is minimal it may not be the machine for you. … It is really loud! Like a jet engine loud.
N*** G*** 5/5 28 October 2026 Currys Black VCF195; product tester
The coffee machine is a little on the noisy side, but I love the sounds it makes. My whole house is filled with the scent of fresh coffee. Proper coffee shop vibes.
P*** 5/5 20 October 2026 Amazon Black; verified purchase
Really happy with this purchase, looks really sleek and compact in our kitchen. … Easy to use and clean and make all sorts of delicious drinks!
M*** 4/5 18 October 2026 Amazon Black; Vine review
There is a bit of a learning curve because of all the options, and I found the instructions could be clearer. It's also a fairly substantially sized machine, so you'll need to make sure you have enough worktop space for it.
H*** A*** A*** 3/5 4 October 2026 Amazon Black; Vine review
My main issue with the machine though is the amount of coffee produced. I don’t know if it’s because we’re used to a Nespresso machine but the volumes of coffee for each of the different options seemed a bit stingy and we had to run it through again to make a coffee big enough. … Another annoyance for me was the noise. It’s so loud and an americano takes about 2 mins to make and the constant noise just annoyed me too much.
B*** 5/5 1 October 2026 Amazon White VCF194; Vine review
I particularly like the front facing design because everything is so easy to access, like the water and milk tanks, without having to keep pulling the machine back n forth (my previous pet peeve). The dual bean hopper is also a brilliant feature as I can have two different beans ready to switch between, which is especially convenient when I want regular coffee in the morning and decaf later.
S*** 4/5 12 October 2026 Amazon White VCF194; Vine review
The machine is a little noisier than I expected but it’s fine. … I do find the amount of coffee it dispenses a little less than what I would like but that might just be my preference.
J*** W*** 4/5 27 September 2026 Amazon Black; Vine review
The instructions provided with the machine are very good, but very difficult to read. The choice of foreground and background colours were poor for legibility.
H*** 5/5 28 September 2026 Amazon White VCF194; Vine review
Easy to clean as auto Purge and Descaling cycle automatically keeps it fresh and clean. All cleanable parts are very easy to de attach and slot back with in no time.
M*** 4/5 16 October 2026 Argos Grey VCF205; collected in a Breville promotion
The machine is supposed to tell you when things are full or empty. So far, it has told me the water is empty at half full. And not told me that the beans are empty until it's pulled a terrible shot of espresso and I've found out that way! Not good for such an expensive machine.
T*** 4/5 22 October 2026 Argos Grey VCF205; collected in a Breville promotion
Okay this is a really fancy coffee machine and it was slightly complicated to set up and get the settings of it correct. At first it was only making half cups of coffee but we managed to get there in the end. It looks lovely and the design is really classy.
H*** 5/5 15 October 2026 Argos Grey VCF205; collected in a Breville promotion
However the machine is quite bulky in size and requires a lot of counter space. Whilst the design is attractive and premium compared to some competing coffee machines. Early morning coffee preparation may disturb other household members.
M*** 5/5 17 October 2026 Argos Grey VCF205; collected in a Breville promotion
The simplicity of the dial to select and the start/pause button makes even the hardest coffees look easy.
L*** 5/5 16 October 2026 Argos Grey VCF205; collected in a Breville promotion
Oh my goodness!! This is the best coffee machine I have ever had. 5* and would absolutely buy again. I have made around 15 hot drinks using this machine.
K*** 5/5 15 October 2026 Argos Grey VCF205; collected in a Breville promotion
Such a fantastic multifunctional espresso maker. Great for so many different drink varieties. It really is like having a cafe in your own home. Saves so much money. Looks so stylish in my kitchen!
