The Siemens EQ500 integral (TQ513GB1) is a mid-range bean-to-cup machine. It has a ceramic grinder, a 15 bar pump, a 1.9 l tank, a removable milk container with automatic milk-system rinsing, and ten one-touch drinks on a colour touch display. UK owners mostly praise how easy it is to use and clean and the consistent coffee-shop quality of its drinks. The most common complaint is that milk drinks come out warm rather than hot. Other complaints are a drip tray that fills or prompts often, an unclear manual and, in a few cases, faults within the first year. It has no app control, user profiles or full two-cup milk drinks. It suits households wanting simple, low-fuss milk coffees, but not anyone who wants very hot drinks or app features. Long-term reliability is not independently confirmed.
Before you buy
What the features mean in everyday use.
The UK model is the Siemens EQ500 integral TQ513GB1 in Daylight silver / Piano black, GTIN 4242003930175, imported into Great Britain by BSH Home Appliances Ltd.
It has a 15 bar pump, 1500 W rating, a 1.9 l water tank, a 270 g bean container, a 0.7 l milk container, a single bean hopper and a ground-coffee funnel.
The manufacturer lists ten beverages (including flat white, Americano, Caffe Crema, espresso doppio, milk foam and hot water), with size and strength adjustable. Four milk drinks are made at one touch without moving the cup.
It has a ceramic grinder with 6 grind settings and an aromaDoubleShot function for stronger coffee. The brewing unit is removable.
The milk system rinses automatically (autoMilk Clean). It has descaling and calc'n clean programmes, and the drip plate, milk container, nozzle, tube and grounds container are dishwasher safe.
It has no Home Connect app support, no user profiles (individualCoffee), no cup lighting, no superSilent feature and no OneTouch DoubleCup. One reviewer marked it down for not supporting the Home Connect app.
It measures 373 x 318 x 448 mm (H x W x D) and weighs 8.3 kg. The coffee outlet adjusts from 9 to 14 cm.
Ease of use is the most common praise in UK store reviews: simple set-up, clear menus and one-button drinks.
Many reviewers say the coffee is consistent and as good as a coffee shop, often noting it is better than the pod machines they replaced.
Reviewers like the simple milk container. It can be kept in the fridge or the tube can go straight into a milk bottle, and the self-cleaning prompts make daily upkeep easy.
The most frequent complaint is that milk drinks or coffee are not hot enough, even on the highest temperature. Some owners reheat cups in the microwave, and one returned the machine.
A minority of reviews report faults: units breaking within a year (including a replacement with the same fault), coffee grounds not delivered to the cup, steam blow-outs, and a drip-tray sensor fault on day one. Store reviews cannot show a failure rate.
Several owners find the drip tray fills quickly or the 'empty drip tray' prompt appears on a timer rather than when the tray is full. Some wish the water reservoir and drip tray were larger.
Some reviewers find the instruction manual unclear or overwhelming at first, including guidance on the water filter and troubleshooting.
A few reviewers note grinding noise and a larger footprint than the pod machines they replaced. One found the top-mounted display and rear water tank awkward.
Several reviewers say it is good value compared with other bean-to-cup machines, and cheaper to run than pods.
AO, Currys and John Lewis all list a 2-year manufacturer guarantee. AO and John Lewis give Slovenia as the country of origin.
Major UK retailers price it almost identically. PriceSpy's 3-month history shows a much lower low point, so waiting for a promotion may pay.
An independent UK review notes some standard mugs are a tight fit under the outlets and that not every drink can be made in pairs. The manufacturer table lists OneTouch DoubleCup as 'No'.
Which? has tested the TQ513GB1 (first reviewed August 2025), but its score and verdict are behind a paywall.

Owners mostly praise how easy the EQ500 is to set up and use, with one-touch drinks and a clear display. Many say the coffee is consistently good and rivals a coffee shop, especially compared with the pod machines they replaced. The simple milk container, which can go in the fridge, and the automatic milk-system cleaning are frequent positives, and several buyers think it is good value. The most common complaint is drink temperature: milk drinks and coffee can come out warm rather than hot, even on the hottest setting. Smaller groups report the drip tray filling quickly or warning too often, an unclear manual, grinding noise and a larger footprint than expected. A few owners describe serious faults within the first year, such as grounds not being delivered or steam blow-outs.

Tearing my hair out with this machine I have had for less than a year. It now appears to be on terminal breakage after several smaller issues that I have always eventually managed to fix after hours of googling (since the instruction manual is useless) but this latest problem seems to be unfixable.
b*** 1/5 27 February 2025 John Lewis
…since this is our second one of this model and all have broken within a year of owning them… The fault is that it grinds the coffee but then doesn't deliver it to the cup and then it explodes coffee grounds inside the machine…
A*** 2*** 1/5 22 November 2024 John Lewis
Plus points - looks good… Display screen window is on the top… impossible to see for a shorter person… Water jug is on the back which is awkward to reach… Every day I got a blow out where the water would not go through the ground beans and steam came out of everywhere… Coffee not hot enough.
K*** 2/5 14 September 2026 Argos
Bought this to replace an old pod - type machine. First day - fault developed - kept saying the Drip Tray needed emptying. Takes both ground n bean coffee - using ground left a bit of a mess inside machine. Overall a large type machine n a bit noisy. Very disappointing. Returned for refund.

Decent enough coffee but warm, not hot. Had to microwave every cup to warm it up. Returned it for a Delonghi.

…The ease of being fully automated is a game changer. However i can only give 4 stars for this coffee machine due to milk froth not being hot enough to make a cappucino. You have to put your coffee in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds which is really annoying.
Customer 4/5 7 January 2026 Currys Currys customer (Feefo)
Great Machine but one thing is even on max heat the coffee is not hot enough shame as I do like my coffee hot
J*** 4/5 23 May 2026 ao-retail-ltd (Feefo) AO customer (Feefo)
I really like it overall. The coffee temperature is a bit lower than expected, so people who prefer very hot coffee may not be fully satisfied. However, it’s easy to use and the size is perfect for me, so I think it was a great purchase.
A*** 4/5 29 September 2026 Argos Written while visiting siemens-home.bsh-group.com
Good value bean to cup coffee machine. The footprint was a bit bigger than my previous (pod) machine, but the functions made up for it. Fabulous one button selection for coffees and more. Easy to tweak to the size, strength and temperature to suit your personal taste. Good size drip tray, coffee bin, milk dispenser and water reservoir. … Noisier than previous machine, but that is due to the grinding that previous machine did not do.
H*** 4/5 15 September 2026 Argos Collected as part of a promotion; syndicated from Siemens
It's everything I wanted - easy to use and clean, males a wide range of good coffees and easy to use and clean. Only problem is the drip tray empty notice seems timed rather than measured. I empty the drip tray every night but it makes me do it on the morning!!
K*** 5/5 29 September 2026 Currys Currys customer (Feefo)
The appliance makes a variety of coffee drinks and makes them very well. Having used a top of the range machine for many years, I wasn’t expecting the bean to cup machine to be as good as it is. My only two little gripes are that the water reservoir and drip tray should hold a greater capacity.
C*** R*** 5/5 30 December 2025 ao-retail-ltd (Feefo) Siemens/BSH shop customer (Feefo)
Just purchased this coffee machine before Xmas. This is a great automatic bean to cup coffee machine that is easy to use and maintain. The coffee it produces is of a great quality and taste. The only initial problem i have found so far is that the drip tray fills up too quickly. I will contact Siemens about this issue

I bought this recently and both myself and my Husband love it, It makes a lovely flat white mild for me and strong for him, It grinds the beans to a nice consistency and the froth is just right…
Customer 5/5 3 October 2026 ao-retail-ltd (Feefo) AO customer (Feefo)
So easy to use with ten pre-set drink options variable strength function, beans or ground coffee, large water and milk tanks with little mess to clean. It's all I wanted for excellent coffee.
L*** 5/5 28 September 2026 ao-retail-ltd (Feefo) AO customer (Feefo)
We are enjoying our new coffee machine. It is easy to use and makes a variety of delicious coffees. The coffees are as good as from a cafe. Easy access for cleaning and the programs are clear to use. The price was reasonable for what it can do.

It’s my 2nd purchase of a Siemens EQ500, excellent machine and great value for money compared to some of the other bean to cup coffee machines on the market. The machine is really user friendly, in my opinion the best of its class!

Amazing coffee machine! Has a wide variety of different coffees to choose from. The removable milk chamber is very convenient, & can also use it directly into your milk bottle making it easy to switch between milk types…

Excellent coffee every time. Great value compared to similar machines. The self cleaning feature is superb. So easy to use and looks terrific.
B*** 5/5 14 September 2026 Argos
Very pleased with this machine, particularly the milk canister which avoids the rigmarole which normally accompanies the preparation of cappuccino with other "automatic" coffee machines. Clear display; lots of options. Just what we needed.
Z*** 5/5 18 May 2026 Argos
The Siemens TQ513GB1 EQ500 Bean to Cup Coffee Machine makes very good coffee, it is easy to set up, and it makes good milk foam. Of course, the taste and aroma of the coffee also depend on the quality of the coffee beans.
T*** 5/5 23 May 2026 John Lewis
It is so easy to make perfecr coffees with this machine. Just fill it with beans, fill the water and milk reservoirs and press a couple of buttons… Cleans itself frequently, easy to empty the grounds. The reservoir does need frequent emptying, but that is very easy to do.
G*** 5/5 21 June 2025 John Lewis
Makes perfect coffee without the faff. Tastes as good as our favourite coffee shop… Although self cleaning, it still requires a good clean at the end of the day, but it's very easy to do.
L*** 5/5 16 September 2024 John Lewis
This machine exceeded our expectations. Very well built and designed which makes it easy to clean… It isn't the fastest of machines, but good coffee is worth waiting for - piping hot and strength to suit the recipient!…
