The Siemens EQ500 integral connect (TQ518GB3) is a mid-range bean-to-cup machine with a 0.7 l milk container that goes in the fridge, a ceramic grinder, Home Connect app control and two-cup milk drinks at one touch. Owners consistently praise the taste and consistency of the coffee and find it easy to use. The most repeated criticism is that drinks can come out lukewarm even on the hottest setting. There are isolated complaints about upkeep and about drink handling when the beans run out. It suits people who mainly drink milk-based coffees and want app extras. Anyone who wants very hot drinks should think twice. Owner feedback specific to this model is limited, and no independent test or long-term reliability data was found.

What the features mean in everyday use.
TQ518GB3 is the Siemens EQ500 integral connect in Dark inox, GTIN 4242003930199. Siemens UK, Argos and Amazon.co.uk all list it under this model code.
It has an integrated milk system with a 0.70 l container, automatic milk-system rinse and dishwasher-safe milk container, nozzle and tube. Siemens says autoMilk Clean steam-cleans the milk system automatically.
Home Connect is built in for remote monitoring and control. The Amazon listing says the app gives access to an additional 8 beverage options.
It has a ceramic grinder with 6 grind settings, aromaDouble Shot, a 270 g bean hopper, a ground-coffee funnel, a 15 bar pump and a 1500 W rating.
It offers OneTouch DoubleCup, a pot function, a 9-14 cm height-adjustable outlet, cup lighting and a switchable cup heater. The catalogue's EQ500 integral TQ513GB1 lacks these, along with Home Connect.
The machine measures 373 x 318 x 448 mm (H x W x D), weighs 8.6 kg, has a 1.9 l water tank and a 100 cm cord.
Most owners in the sample describe the coffee as good, tasty or consistent, including several who say it beats previous bean-to-cup machines.
Several owners find it simple to use once set up, including first-time bean-to-cup buyers.
Some owners say coffee and lattes come out lukewarm or could be hotter, even on the highest temperature setting. One Amazon reviewer reports that Siemens customer service said the cooler temperature is by design. Another John Lewis reviewer says the coffee is hot.
One reviewer, posting on Amazon and via Siemens syndication, reports that if beans run out during a latte the milk is dispensed first and the drink does not resume after refilling.
One John Lewis owner found the upkeep demanding: the drip tray needed emptying every three or four drinks, and the machine locks out drinks when descaling is postponed.
One Amazon owner of the Dark Inox version reports the machine occasionally switching itself off when a drink is selected. No long-term reliability data or independent test of this model was found.
Several reviewers on the shared Amazon listing say no water filter cartridge or starter kit comes in the box. These reviews are tagged with the TQ513GB1 colour option, so this is family-level evidence.
Applies to the model family
On 29 October 2026 Siemens' own shop, Argos, John Lewis and Amazon.co.uk all listed it at £699.00, while Paul Davies listed it at £1,039.99. AO's listing is gone and Currys does not list it.
Which? has a review page only for the sibling TQ513GB1 (paywalled), not for TQ518GB3. No independent UK lab test of this exact model was found.
Applies to the model family
Owners like that the milk container can be stored in the fridge and that milk foam is good.
John Lewis lists the machine as Quiet Mark certified, and one Argos owner calls it pretty quiet. Siemens lists superSilent as not present.
It comes with a 2-year manufacturer guarantee at Argos and John Lewis.
Amazon.co.uk shows one rating pool for the TQ518GB3 Dark Inox and the TQ513GB1 Daylight Silver/Piano Black on a shared listing. That rating is not specific to this model.

See the common points first, then read the original reviews yourself.
Summarised from the 9 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 9.
Owners generally like the coffee's flavour, drink variety and convenient preparation, with particular praise for effortless lattes. Temperature divides opinion: some enjoy hot drinks, while others find coffee or milk drinks too cool. Less satisfied owners describe frequent cleaning interruptions, disappointing mug portions, a drink failing to resume after beans run out, or occasional abrupt shutdowns. The detailed temperature and bean-refill complaint appears in closely related accounts across stores, so it should not be treated as independent evidence of a widespread fault.
Summarised from 9 reviews. The summary is drawn from opinions that recur in the reviews read; each theme shows how many reviews mention it. These counts are not a rate and do not apply to every unit.
Python deduplicated author+date+text: 7 John Lewis API reviews and 2 explicitly Dark Inox Amazon reviews, giving 9 eligible texts. Six other UK Amazon texts were excluded: 4 other-model, 2 uncertain. No textless entries. ratings_total excludes Amazon's pooled total. Closely related cross-posted complaints count as separate dated entries, not independent evidence.

More complicated that I thought Does not deliver a mug full

All in all very good. Decent choice of drinks and also the ability to add other drinks to the machine via the app, such as Cafe con Leche which is very good and hot. Lattes could be a little hotter but always best to use double walled cups….
L*** 5/5 19 April 2025 John Lewis TQ518GB3 listing; native John Lewis review.
Just what I was looking for, a machine that's simple to use with not too many options as I just drink lattes which this provides effortlessly. Really pleased with my purchase.
m*** 3/5 6 March 2025 John Lewis TQ518GB3 listing; native John Lewis review.
It makes a nice cup of coffee, simple to use, lovely! But it requires constant attention - the drip tray has to be emptied after every three or four drinks which is ridiculous, and then every couple of weeks it decides it needs descaling. If you decide to put-off the descaling the machine will simply lock you out and refuse to make you any drinks until you do. All in all, we regret buying it, but at least the coffee is nice...
a*** 5/5 2 February 2025 John Lewis TQ518GB3 listing; syndicated from Siemens UK.
I like the consistency, the only thing that changes is the flavour if I change the beans I use. Apart from that, I get whichever drink I request, in the size I've selected, and nothing has gone wrong so far.
L*** 5/5 15 December 2024 John Lewis TQ518GB3 listing; native John Lewis review.
I had 2 different beans to cup coffee machines but none of them made such tasty coffee like this machine does. It makes the perfect milk foam. The coffee is actually hot and not lukewarm like other coffee machines. Also tried a decaf coffee with ground coffee as it has the option to use ground coffee as well and it was delicious. The milk container can go straight into the fridge until your next coffee break! It's also very easy to clean. I hardly go out for coffee now as it tastes as great as in a coffee shop. Very happy with my it.
M*** K*** 4/5 15 October 2025 Amazon dark-inox; review explicitly labelled Dark Inox.
It's a great coffee machine and makes perfect drinks. Only 4 stars as occasionally once powered on, you press the drinks button you want and it shuts off. Not power down, just straight off! Which is rather annoying for an expensive machine.
