The Siemens EQ300 (TF301G19) is a compact, entry-level bean-to-cup machine with a ceramic grinder, 15-bar pump, 1.4-litre tank, manual milk frother arm and a removable brewing unit. Owners consistently find it simple to use and easy to clean, say the coffee tastes good, and like that the narrow body suits small kitchens. Against it: no app, cup heater or double-cup function, a noisy grinder, frequent rinse and descale cycles, and milk drinks some find not hot enough. The most common complaint is the frother failing, with some grinder or brew unit faults after one to two years; no independent lab test was found, so durability rests on owner reports. Best for first-time buyers who mainly drink espresso or black coffee; heavy milk-drink users may prefer a higher-end model.

What the features mean in everyday use.
It is a 1300 W bean-to-cup machine with a 15-bar pump, a ceramic multilevel grinder, a 1.4-litre removable water tank and a 250 g bean container.
It is a compact, narrow body at 383 x 251 x 433 mm (H x W x D) and about 7 kg.
Milk is frothed with a milkPerfect frother arm rather than an automatic milk carafe. Siemens says latte macchiato and cappuccino can be made at one touch without moving the cup. There is no automatic milk-system rinse.
It has no app connectivity (Home Connect), no cup heater, no double-cup or AromaDoubleShot function, no user profiles, no pre-ground coffee funnel and no superSilent feature. Drinks are limited to espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato and milk foam, with 3 strength settings.
The brewing unit is removable. The drip plate, milk nozzle and grounds container are dishwasher-safe. Cleaning uses tablets and there is a descaling programme.
The most common praise in UK store reviews is that it is easy to set up, operate and keep clean, including from first-time bean-to-cup owners.
Many reviewers say the espresso and coffee taste good, with good crema. Some found it less bitter than machines they had before.
Reviewers say it fits small kitchens and sits under wall cupboards.
The most frequent fault reported is the milk frother or steamer stopping working or no longer frothing, sometimes within weeks or months. Some buyers returned machines because of it.
A minority of reviewers report grinder, drive unit or brewing unit failures between about 6 months and 2 years of use. One reports a quoted out-of-warranty repair cost. Another had a blocked grounds funnel on two units.
Several reviewers find the grinder and the rinse cycles noisy.
Some reviewers say milk drinks, or coffee at times, come out not hot enough, especially with cold milk straight from the fridge.
Reviewers mention frequent rinse cycles at power-on and off, descaling and cleaning prompts that come round often, and water collecting in the internal tray. Some also call the instructions poor.
UK retailers list a 2-year manufacturer guarantee. The machine is made in Slovenia.
Which? has not tested this model; its Siemens coffee machine list covers only EQ500 and EQ900 models. No independent lab test was found for the UK version.
Siemens promotes the ceramDrive ceramic grinder with a 'long-life guarantee' and the iAroma System for consistent brewing.

Summarised from the 84 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 84.
UK owners mostly praise the EQ300 as a simple, compact first bean-to-cup machine. It is easy to set up and run, quick to clean, and makes good espresso with decent crema. The main complaints are about reliability: the milk frother arm stopping working, sometimes within weeks, and occasional grinder, drive unit or brew unit failures after one to two years. Repeated complaints also cover noise from the grinder and rinse cycles, milk drinks not being hot enough, frequent rinsing and descaling, water collecting in the internal tray and a thin instruction manual. Buyers who value simplicity are generally satisfied; those expecting long-term durability or hot, café-style milk drinks are more critical.

Had this for 2 years. First the frother stopped working after 5 months. Then the drive unit went after 12 months. Now the grinder has gonecafter 2 years. Outside of warranty. Siemens want 100 +vat to repair. Avoid.

Broke within less than a year. Warranty repair communication non-existent and trying to contact Amazon to discuss is near impossible. Strongly recommend you steer clear of this unit.

Seems to be ok. Easy to set up and to use . Not massive and not too heavy but feels a bit cheap. Could argue that drink may be a bit not hot enough . And unfortunately lot of water is collecting in a tray which I’m not sure if it should be like this. But overall ok for my demands

This machine is super, makes excellent, tasty coffee as we use beans. You can alter the strength of the coffee with a button. Also, it is easy to clean, not too big (we have a small kitchen) and looks smart.

Customer 3/5 5 December 2025 John Lewis Syndicated review
Really easy to use, cleaning and descaling is a bit of a faff and seems to come round too quickly. The milk frother has stopped working really quickly.

It makes fresh coffee, 5 different types, the cafe crema being my favourite. Easy to clean just open door and remove coffee and clean drip tray. There's a calc n clean function but not used it yet…

We had the older version of this but it died. This is much better as it’s sleeker looking and quieter. The milk frother is easy to clean and is excellent at frothing. Would highly recommend

Makes excellent coffee and is quite straight forward to use. It loses one star for being very noisy throughout the coffee cycle and rinsing.
S*** 2/5 23 April 2025 John Lewis Compares with the previous generation
Bought the predecessor to this in 2020 and it served us well with tasty coffees over the last 5 years. However there's a complex, removable brewing unit inside and after a while it cracks and tears itself apart inside the machine while making a coffee…

We did a lot of research before buying this and we have not been disappointed (3 weeks in). GREAT tasting coffee, easy to use, easy to clean milk nozzle.. at very reasonable price…

This was a replacement for a Miele bean to cup machine that finally gave up after 10 years and 20000 coffees. I was a bit wary given the price of this one - there must be something materially different between a Siemens for under £400 and a Siemens for over £1000. So far I cannot fault it and the coffee tastes a lot better…
A*** 5/5 13 February 2024 Amazon Colour: Eq300 Black & Silver
I did encounter an issue with the magnet on the frother breaking initially. Fortunately, Siemens' customer service promptly resolved the issue, providing me with a replacement frother. Since then, I've had no further problems, and the machine has performed flawlessly.
F*** 3/5 13 January 2024 John Lewis
I am writing this with mixed reviews. The espresso tastes great . However, I'm not impressed with the cappuccino as it's not hot enough if you get the milk out of the fridge and you have the wrong cup . Quite disappointed with this coffee machine ti be honest for the price .
A*** 1/5 20 December 2023 Currys
Ended up buying 2 machines and returned both. On each machine, the funnel that the ground beans goes down got blocked. Changed settings to a finer grind and changed beans as well, all to no avail. The problem kept happening. You had to removed the internal piece and clean after every use…
