The Philips Café Aromis EP8757/20 is a premium bean-to-cup machine that makes over 50 hot and iced drinks. It has two LatteGo Pro carafes (hot and cold), a 4.3-inch touchscreen, eight user profiles and Wi-Fi app control. Owners rate it highly for ease of use, drink variety and easy-clean milk carafes, and most like the coffee. Some experienced espresso drinkers find shots less intense than rival De'Longhi or manual machines. Occasional complaints cover froth temperature, noise and a fiddly drip tray. It suits households that want quick, customisable milk drinks and cold coffee. It is less suited to espresso purists or kitchens short of worktop depth. Much early praise comes from a manufacturer test campaign, and long-term reliability is not yet known.
Strengths
A very wide hot and iced drink menu, including cold brew, with strength, volume, temperature and milk adjustable per drink and saved to 8 profiles.
Quick guided setup and a responsive 4.3-inch touchscreen that first-time bean-to-cup owners find easy.
Tube-free LatteGo Pro hot and cold carafes that reviewers and TechRadar find easy to clean.

Most reviewers rate the coffee as rich and hot, a clear step up from pods.
SilentBrew and Quiet Mark certification, and many owners find it quiet.
Things to consider
Some experienced users find the espresso less rich than De'Longhi or manual machines.
Occasional complaints of froth that is too airy or not hot enough, and one frother that did not work properly.
Not everyone finds it quiet. A minority hear more noise than they expected.
Show all (6)
The drip tray design draws criticism, and the 1.9 L tank empties fast for heavy black-coffee drinkers.
A few strongly negative reviews report setup problems, grind settings locked until 100 cups and no printed manual.
Much of the praise comes from incentivised early reviews, and long-term reliability is unproven.
Who is it for, and who is it not for?
Good for
Households who drink lattes, cappuccinos and iced coffees and want café-style variety at the touch of a button.
Several coffee drinkers at home who would use separate profiles and app control.
People upgrading from pod machines who want simple setup and easy cleaning.
May not suit
Espresso enthusiasts who prioritise intensity and texture over convenience.
Kitchens with little worktop depth (452 mm deep, 9.3 kg).
Anyone who wants hot chocolate from the machine, as there is no hot chocolate option.
LatteGo Pro comes with separate hot and cold carafes. It is tube-free, and Philips says it rinses clean in about 10 seconds. TechRadar found each carafe comes apart into three plastic pieces that are easy to clean, and it worked with dairy, oat and soy milk.
It has a 4.3-inch TFT touchscreen, 8 user profiles, 12 grinder settings and 7 strength levels. Wi-Fi with the HomeID app allows remote brewing and a barista-assistant feature.
Reviewers repeatedly describe setup as quick, with on-screen guidance, and the touchscreen as responsive and intuitive, including first-time bean-to-cup owners.
Some experienced users find the espresso less rich than expected for the price. Two compare it unfavourably with De'Longhi machines, and one with a good manual machine.
A minority report milk froth that is too airy or cooler than they would like, even after raising the temperature. One reviewer could not get the frother to work properly.
One Argos reviewer calls the drip tray and cover a downgrade from earlier Philips models, citing gaps, small drip holes and splashing. A John Lewis reviewer notes light glasses vibrate on the tray.
A small number of syndicated John Lewis reviews are strongly negative, citing a machine that 'barely works', grind settings locked until 100 cups had been brewed, no printed manual, and a difficult setup.
TechRadar rated it 5/5 (Editor's Choice) after two weeks. It praised the design, build, consistent brewing, hot and cold drinks, customisation and app. Its criticisms were that the ground-coffee hatch steams up and that the machine must cool fully before making cold drinks.
Many store reviews come from a Philips promotion or product-test campaign. They are tagged as collected in a promotion or incentivised, and the same testers posted on several stores. Ratings are therefore probably more favourable than truly independent feedback would be.
Reviewers often describe it as premium-looking and stylish. One notes a fair amount of visible plastic on close inspection, and Philips lists plastic as the primary material.

Really impressed with this coffee machine so far… makes a much better cup of coffee than I was expecting… After using pods machines for so long this was the first real step up… It does take a bit of experimenting at first to get the coffee exactly how you like it…

…the Silent Brew tech, which keeps it impressively quiet and perfect for early starts, and the BrewExtract extraction, which produces a shot that's genuinely good for a fully automatic… the finish is let down slightly by a fair amount of visible plastic when you look closely…
S*** L***5/523 August 2026John Lewis
…The water tank could be bigger, especially for black coffee drinkers… I also think the espresso quality could be better. De'Longhi machines I've tried produce a stronger, higher-quality espresso. Overall, though, the Café Aromis is a great all-round bean-to-cup machine…
I***3/529 July 2026John Lewis
…My biggest criticism is the amount of noise it makes during operation, which is more noticeable than expected. While the coffee tastes perfectly enjoyable, it still can't quite compete with the richer flavour produced by a good manual coffee machine. For fast, hassle-free coffee, though, it's an OK choice.

…The coffee is enjoyable, but I expected a richer flavour considering the premium price… lightweight glasses can vibrate on the drip tray while pouring… While I don't think the coffee quality quite matches the price, it looks fantastic in the kitchen…

…the espresso that comes out from it is like the ones that you get on big names coffee shops… It has replaced my morning trips to coffee shops… I find it extremely good value for money and is saving me about £20 a week. It's very compact…

Absolutely The Worst Machine On The Market. Full Stop… It runs poorly. It barely works. The coffee is laughable. Every single good review is someone who got a free machine…

…This coffee machine has many parts and was difficult to set up. The milk frother in particular still does not work properly for me… it's a nice machine. the espresso is fine.

Zero Stars. Do NOT waste your money. The machine is quite honestly absolutely awful. You can't adjust the grind settings until you brew 100 cups? It can't make black coffee until I brew 100 cups? It comes with no manual…

This coffee machine has some significant improvements in relation to the 5000 series. WiFi is an interesting feature, but to be honest, it doesn't make your life easier to make coffee. The display looks really good. Coffee tastes good… The biggest downside and disappointment is the drip tray and tray cover. It is a huge downgrade compared to previous models. The cover doesn't line up with the tray, there are loads of gaps… the drip holes are way too small, so water is all over the place.

I am absolutely in love with this coffee machine. I love an ice coffee in the morning and a cup of hot coffee in the day… It even has a different milk jug for both… Was easy to set up and use.
Customer4/522 August 2026Argos
…The water tank is a little too small for someone who mainly drinks black coffee… I also think the espresso quality could be better… I think De'Longhi produces a better-quality espresso with more depth and intensity. Despite those points, I think the Philips 8000 Series Café Aromis is a great all-round bean-to-cup machine.

…a quick swipe on the super responsive 4.3" touchscreen… Clean-up is equally as easy… Truthfully it's incredibly difficult to find any sort of criticism for this machine…

…you can have barista quality coffee in your home in the touch of a button.. literally… It's on the pricey side however it's worth every penny…

Absolutely love this coffee machine! The coffee tastes rich and fresh every time, and it's incredibly easy to use… It's quiet, stylish, and very easy to clean…
S***5/53 August 2026Argos
…The digital display feels premium… The machine makes a bit of noise, but no more than you would expect of a coffee machine… The machine produces excellent quality coffee, and I have enjoyed both the hot and chilled varieties.

I’ve been using the Philips Café Aromis Series 8000 for a little while now and I’m really really happy with it. It was easy enough to set up and didn’t take long and it walks you though everything so you can get used to the different settings. The coffee tastes great and I like being able to adjust the strength depending on what I fancy…

Overall its a great machine, very wide range of hot and cold drinks, I prefer hot and have really enjoyed making Latte's and Macchiato's. I have found that no matter the temp the milk froth tends to come out abit colder than I would like and despite altering the overall temp this does not change…

Philips Cafe Aromis is a brilliant appliance packed with options and customisations. The size is ok but could be slightly smaller so anyone with little counter space could enjoy the coffee that it offer. It is very easy to assemble with only few movable parts…

We’ve been using the Philips Aromis 8000 for 2 weeks now. It’s a big piece of equipment however worth it for the quality of the coffee. It makes over 50 types of both hot and cold brew coffees via a touch screen system. No wand needed to froth your own milk, everything is automatic…

I’m really impressed with this machine. The option for both hot and cold drinks is perfect in this warm weather. The generous water tank and built-in filter make a big difference with our hard water. The touchscreen responds just like a smartphone, and the app is brilliant for helping me choose what to drink. I love setting the timer so it’s ready the moment I get up. Excellent coffee with virtually no effort, definitely recommend it!

I am very happy with this coffee machine. It is easy to use, makes delicious coffee, and the milk frother works perfectly. The coffee is hot, flavorful, and the machine is easy to clean. It looks modern and feels like a high-quality product. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves coffee.

Really pleased with the Philips Aromis 8000. The coffee tastes rich and fresh every time, and I like how simple the machine is to operate. It looks modern on the counter and has made my morning routine much more enjoyable. The milk frothing carafe is my favourite feature on the machine and it is super easy to clean…

Philips Aromis 8000 Setup, Dial in, and Review
The Philips Café Aromis 8000 Series features an impressive touchscreen and an expansive menu with over 50 hot and cold beverages. While espresso quality is a noticeable step up from previous Philips machines once dialled in, the milk frother still produces relatively coarse foam. It is a solid, feature-packed super-automatic machine, though dosing capacity and milk texture fall slightly short of the best competitors.
The Philips Café Aromis 8000 is an improved super-automatic espresso machine offering a larger dose capacity, dedicated cold drink features, and an excellent touchscreen interface. While it delivers stronger espresso and easier cleaning with its updated LatteGo Pro carafe, the grinder cannot grind finely enough and the milk foam texture remains somewhat coarse. It is well-suited for buyers prioritising ease of use, swift workflow, and cold coffee variety over cafe-grade microfoam.
Philips Café Aromis 8000 LatteGo Pro Review | Everything You Need to Know Before You Buy
The Philips Café Aromis 8000 Series is a versatile super-automatic bean-to-cup coffee machine offering 50 preset recipes, including a 5-minute authentic cold brew. It stands out with easy-to-clean LatteGo Pro milk carafes, quiet operation, and eight customisable user profiles. Potential buyers should note its premium price, initial learning curve, and that automated milk frothing will not get as piping hot as a manual steam wand.
Philips Aromis 8000 Series: Honest Test and Review
The Philips Aromis 8000 Series is a high-performance coffee machine capable of preparing roughly 50 hot, cold, and milky beverage recipes. It boasts an intuitive touchscreen, customisable user profiles, and exceptionally quiet grinding operation. However, it takes up considerable counter space, and no cleaning or descaling supplies are included in the box.
