In the UK, the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro name is used for Gaggia's current Classic E24: a fully manual, single-boiler espresso machine with a brass boiler, lead-free brass group, 58 mm stainless portafilter, 3-way solenoid and a professional steam wand. Owners rate the espresso highly and like the robust, simple design, but it needs a good grinder, a proper tamper and some practice, and you cannot steam and brew at the same time. It suits hands-on home baristas who want café-style espresso and are happy to learn; anyone wanting automatic milk frothing, temperature control or one-touch drinks should look elsewhere. It is not stocked by the big UK high-street chains and availability at specialist sellers is patchy. Long-term reliability of the brass-boiler version has no independent test yet; isolated early faults are reported.

What the features mean in everyday use.
In the UK, 'Classic Evo Pro' is used by retailers for Gaggia's current Classic E24 (RI9481 family) with a brass boiler; the manufacturer itself calls the machine Classic E24 and has no UK site.
The machine has a lead-free brass boiler, a lead-free brass brew group and a 58 mm professional stainless-steel filter-holder.
Gaggia says the brass boiler has a higher capacity and stores more heat for better temperature stability and longer, steadier steam; the Amazon.co.uk listing claims a 25% larger capacity.
A fully manual machine: three rocker switches with indicator lights, 15 bar nominal pump, 3-way solenoid valve, no pre-infusion programme, no water-filter compatibility, manual descaling.
2.1 l front-removable water tank; 20 x 35.5 x 27 cm and 8.1 kg; 1200 W at 230 V with a stand-by function in the European version.
Owners most often praise the espresso quality, several saying it beats more expensive or more automated machines they own(ed).
Reviewers describe it as solidly built and long-lasting, and owners upgrading from older Classics say the new portafilter, buttons and exterior feel better.
Buyers like the simple controls with few electronics and find the functions easy to understand.
Owners note a learning curve and that good results need a decent espresso grinder and better accessories (tamper, distributor, puck screen); the supplied plastic tamper was criticised as not fitting the 58 mm basket.
As a single-boiler machine it cannot steam milk and brew at the same time, which reviewers say slows down making several milk drinks; one disliked the one-way steam wand pivot.
Isolated UK reviews report faults soon after purchase: a unit that smelled of burning, sparked and blew a fuse, and an on/off switch that would not stay in within a month.
The earlier 2023 Evo Pro with a coated aluminium boiler had a coating-flaking problem in a single-digit percentage of units, which Gaggia repaired; an owner forum thread reports brew-head blockages after descaling on an Evo Pro. These concern the aluminium-boiler version, not the brass-boiler E24.
Applies to the model family
John Lewis, Currys and Argos do not list any Gaggia Classic; in the UK it is sold through Amazon.co.uk marketplace sellers and specialist coffee retailers, several of which showed it sold out or out of stock.
Warranty depends on the seller: the Amazon.co.uk listing states a 2-year labour and 5-year parts UK warranty, Clumsy Goat states 3 years and Coffee Friend 24 months.
Available in brushed stainless steel plus Color Vibes and Energy Vibes colour versions with zinc-coated steel bodywork.
Applies to one variant

Summarised from the 20 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 20.
Owners mostly praise the espresso, often saying it rivals pricier or more automated machines, and describe the machine as solidly built with simple, satisfying switches. The other side is that it is a genuinely manual machine: buyers mention a learning curve, needing a good grinder and a better tamper than the plastic one supplied, and the single-boiler workflow that cannot steam and brew at the same time. A couple of UK buyers had early faults (a burning smell and blown fuse, a failed power switch). Several reviewers consider it good value for the coffee quality.

Makes a great coffee. Just watch some videos about how to get the best out of it. Takes a little practice from being a novice. Love how I can now have better coffee at home than from a coffee shop

Updated older model of the same make to this one. Beautiful and functional. Not too many electronic things/buttons that is what exactly we were after!

This one is the business. I had a fully manual one of these for 20 years and this one is the same quality but with a few more bells and whistles. Unlike Delonghi

This is a great coffee machine, built like a tank and makes great coffee. However it is a very manual machine, no timers or fancy temperature controls, just on off switches and a thermostat. My previous machine was a Sage Bambino which was much easier for long white coffees like latte and flat white, as it had timers and automatic milk frothing. The Gaggia makes better coffee than the Sage, but I have had to buy a lot of new accessories like a decent espresso grinder, tamper, distributor and puck screen.

First espresso machine and so far so good. Still have a lot of learning to do but this appears to be a well built machine that will last. Only thing that dropped a star is the tamper provided - some horrible little plastic thing that doesn't even fit the 58mm basket. You'd think for the price you're paying that Gaggia could throw in a nicer tamper that fits. I've had to buy that separately.

Bought this to replace an earlier version off this machine which I’ve had for about 15+ years but alas it eventually broke down completely, the new machine seems to be working well in the brief time I’ve had it, … personally I think the gaggia classic is excellent for my needs and highly recommend it and it makes a great coffee and it’s super easy to use.

This is an awesome machine. Makes a perfect crema and the steam boiler punches out got milk very quickly. … I almost think the Gaggia makes a better espresso. Only thing would be that it is a little slower at making more than 2-3 coffees as you can't stream milk and make espresso at the same time. However... For a third of the price this machine wins actually. Very, very happy.

best money i have ever spent on anything. fills all my need to make a proper cup of espresso in the mooring. the only issue i have is the one way turn on the steam wand, one extra pivot point for 25 more dollars?

I have purchased this recently and already the on/off switch has broken. Doesn’t stay in which means the machine can’t warm up. I have contacted the company today, the asked me to double box it, leave a note on outside for EU customs and VAT. Basically I’m left stuck without a coffee machine for a month and no refund, I made a big mistake buying this.

Previously owned a Gaggia Classic, but the Evo model is a significant upgrade. The portafilter, buttons, and exterior all feel soo much better.

The Gaggia Classic Evo Pro is an iterative evolution of the popular Classic Pro, introducing welcome upgrades such as an out-of-the-box 9-bar OPV spring, a brass group head, and a solid stainless steel portafilter. While it misses out on PID temperature control and retains a lightweight plastic handle, its internal coating against limescale and retained pricing make it an exceptional entry-level espresso machine.
YouTube · Comparison
The Gaggia Classic Pro E24 replaces the coated aluminium boiler of the 2023 Evo Pro with an uncoated brass boiler, increasing internal water capacity by roughly 30%. This delivers higher brew water temperatures, reduced temperature swings for improved shot-to-shot consistency, and more powerful, sustained steam power. Although the steam ready light takes slightly longer to activate, steaming can still be initiated early with the usual steam temperature hack.
YouTube · Comparison
The video compares the Gaggia Classic Pro Evo with the earlier Classic Pro, tearing down both units to evaluate their build, noise, and espresso performance. The Evo offers upgraded materials including a brass group head and a polished portafilter, though in-cup espresso quality remains largely identical. The reviewer considers it an excellent budget espresso machine and believes the 'boilergate' coating controversy has been blown out of proportion.
