The Ninja Luxe Café Premier (ES601UK) is a 3-in-1 espresso, filter and cold brew machine with a built-in burr grinder, scale, grind guidance and hands-free milk frothing. It is aimed at people who want café-style drinks without learning barista skills. UK buyers mostly praise how easy it is to use and the quality of the coffee, and like the range of hot and cold drinks and the built-in storage. The recurring complaints are a minority of early faults (steam wand or line, leaks, frother), inconsistent grind recommendations, drinks that some find not hot enough, and a small drip tray. Ninja offers a 2-year guarantee on registration. Independent long-term reliability data could not be accessed. Buyers who want more frothing presets or drink settings should look at the Premier Plus or Pro.
Before you buy
What the features mean in everyday use.
The UK model is the Ninja Luxe Café Premier (Premier Series) ES601UK, sold in Black/Stainless Steel (ES601UK), Black (ES601UKBK), Gunmetal (ES601UKGM) and Cyber Space (ES601UKCY).
Ninja describes it as a 3-in-1 espresso, filter coffee and cold brew machine with a built-in grinder (25 settings), built-in scale and 19 drink settings.
Barista Assist Technology recommends a grind size and uses auto presets, and an assisted tamper is included, reducing the skill needed to pull a shot.
The hands-free Dual Froth System steams and whisks milk at the same time, with four presets including Cold Foam; it works with dairy and plant milk.
Ease of set-up and use is the most common praise in UK store reviews, often from first-time bean users; several say instructions and videos help.
Many reviewers say the coffee matches or beats high-street coffee shops and saves them buying takeaway coffee.
A minority of reviewers report failures within weeks or months: steam wand or internal steam line failing, leaks, frother or buttons stopping, or recurring error alerts. Some had replacements fail the same way.
Some reviewers find the recommended grind size inconsistent with the same beans, or the grinder occasionally doses far more than expected; one notes the algorithm needs freshly roasted beans.
A few reviewers say coffee and milk drinks are not hot enough.
Some reviewers find the drip tray small and quick to fill, with the waste water and tank needing attention every few mugs.
A few reviewers find it slow, note that milk is frothed separately from extraction so the drink can cool, or would prefer more manual control.
Reviewers like the look and the on-board accessory storage; Ideal Home calls the storage 'genius' but notes the machine takes up a lot of worktop space.
Ideal Home rated it 5/5 as a machine for beginners that makes consistently good coffee, with the recommended grind size called hugely helpful; its cons were worktop space and having to use the automatic milk-frothing settings.
Reviewers value the range of drinks, including cold brew, iced coffee, cold foam and hot chocolate.
Opinions on value are mostly positive ('worth it', good value against the newer upgraded model), though some find it pricey or not the best espresso machine for the money.
Several reviewers with faults say Ninja handled diagnosis and replacement well; complaints about returns were mostly aimed at the retailer, and one says Ninja never called back.
In Ninja's own comparison the ES601 sits below the Premier Plus (ES655, Advanced Dual Froth System, 5 froth presets) and the Pro (ES701, 29 drink settings, integrated tamper).
Applies to the model family
Ninja gives a 2-year guarantee upon registration.
Combining the guided grinding, automatic frothing and reviewer comments, the machine suits beginners and households wanting café-style hot and cold drinks with little skill, rather than users who want full manual control.

Summarised from the 122 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 122.
UK buyers mostly praise how easy the machine is to set up and use, even for first-time bean users, and say the espresso, lattes and flat whites rival high-street coffee shops. The wide range of hot and cold drinks, including cold brew and cold foam, the looks and the built-in accessory storage are also liked. The main complaints are reliability: a minority report the steam wand, internal steam line or frother failing within weeks or months, leaks, or recurring error alerts, and some had replacements fail too. Others find the grind recommendations inconsistent, drinks not hot enough, the drip tray small, or the process slow, and a few would prefer more manual control. Several praise Ninja's handling of faults, while some return problems were with the retailer.

Excellent product, easy to use and makes cafe quality drinks. The whole family love it.

Excellent, they have just upgraded this model but for the difference in price this model is great as it does virtually the same things as the upgrade so save your money

Customer 5/5 3 September 2026 Currys Currys, Silver & Black (ES601UK)
Produces coffee on par or better than any coffee shop. Compact, stylish and high quality expected from Ninja. Offers great variety of coffees, drink sizes, milk froth consistency and customisation such as espresso and milk temperatures. Note the barista technology algorithm for grind size requires fresh roasted artisan beans to work, not high street or supermarket bought beans. Highly recommended.
Customer 5/5 25 August 2026 Currys Currys, Black (ES601UKBK)

I usually don't write any reviews but this I had to. What a masterstroke Ninja has brought here. Every coffee is so good to the point I can't stand the cafe quality anymore. Cold brew option with the cold froth is an absolute gem in this hot weather. Machine is ready in a jiff… Very low noise as well… Easy 5 stars!
S*** 5/5 19 July 2026 Amazon Silver (ES601UK)
Wonderfully simple machine that makes great coffee. Having bought and returned two, irreparable, Breville coffee machines we paid an extra £100 for this Ninja machine… Easy to clean which is handy as the Ninja waste water needs emptying every 4 or 5 mugs. Our only minor criticism would be the small water container which needs refilling every 4 or 5 mugs, but it is minor. Overall this is an outstanding piece of kit.

Relatively simple to use. Helpful support people. However, I struggled to use the 4 shot lux basket as it refused to grind enough coffee… The drip tray is frustratingly too small and often overflows… The coffee made is good. It appears to be excellent value relative to other machines… Overall, I am happy but it could be so much better. The milk steamer wand is always needing cleaning…

I received a faulty product, which can happen and is absolutely fine, but the real problem started when I tried to return it. They are absolutely not helpful, I was promised a collection from home 4 TIMES… I ended up calling Ninja and they offered a quick solution with a replacement right away. Highly suggest everyone to buy it directly from the company itself…

It's OK machine but not great, despite the premium price, so many things made from cheap plastic.

I'm a barista and I wanted a good coffee machine for my house. This is the best home machine I have ever used. It's very easy to set up… it looks great on my counter. It makes a delicious iced coffee, latte, flat white etc. . Perfect
B*** M*** 4/5 12 December 2025 Amazon Black (ES601UKBK)
Bought as a replacement for an aging Sage machine. Pros: - Good looking machine with solid, durable feel… - Coffee and milk temperatures spot-on… Main annoyances: 1. The recommended grind size is completely inconsistent with the same bean… 2. The grinder can occasionally throw a wobbly - rather than delivering around 18 gm for a double-shot, it will suddenly grind a much larger amount (largest so far: 33 gm)…
T*** 1/5 7 October 2026 Amazon Black (ES601UKBK)
Do not buy from Amazon,Rubbish waste of money, doesn't do what I bought it for the auto barista is crap doesn't recommend right grind they tell you to run 3 cup through it so grinder can calibrate but then it changes… you get a single drip of coffee… The handle is so stiff too that you have to hold onto one side of the machine and put a lot of force to lock it into place poorly made, gutted.…
P*** 1/5 16 October 2026 Amazon Gunmetal (ES601UKGM)
Bought this from Amazon. It started to leak water when trying to warm up milk without working… Ninja were very polite and professional, run a few tests and videos, and decision made to switch off, its not safe…

Don't hesitate to buy, its great! … Bought this last weekend for my husband and it's hardly been off! He absolutely loves it, saves a lot of visits to coffee shops! Highly recommend! We had another brand machine and definitely would not go back!

Great fun 🤩 learning … We are slowly tip toeing into being a barista couple - great coffee so far we are even daring to experiment with the beans!
D*** 3/5 20 October 2026 Argos
Not warm 😢 … Love the machine but the coffee & milk is always barely warm! I end up putting it in the microwave to warm it up
G*** 3/5 18 October 2026 Argos
Item replaced after 6mths - faulty steam wand … The internal line to the steam wand popped/burst after 6 months use, rendering the machine unusable. Whilst this was extremely disappointing the interrogation, return and replacement was handled very well by Ninja.
T*** 1/5 18 October 2026 Argos
Leaking machine … I can't give a opinion on the coffee machine as it leaked from the first day and was returned
G*** 5/5 18 October 2026 Argos
Fantastic … Fantastic, very easy to use easy to clean. Don't know why I waited so long.
W*** 5/5 15 October 2026 Argos
Amazing … Amazing- never have to buy a shop bought coffee again. The design is compact and has a compartment for the accessories.
A*** 1/5 15 October 2026 Argos
Avoid , spend your money elsewhere … I purchased one of these in July 25, within 3 months it had broke, ninja replaced this, the same thing happened again (steam coming from porta filler and not the wand) surprisingly this one lasted 6 months and the same thing happened, 3 machines with the same problem over the last 1 year, now awaiting a replacement upgrade…

The best … It worth every penny's spent makes the best coffee ever I have had two coffee makers before this one stand out the best

The Ninja Luxe Café introduces innovative assistive technology at a competitive price, notably offering grind-by-weight dosing and competent automated milk frothing. However, it suffers from ergonomic flaws, excessive water waste into the drip tray, and very poor filter coffee performance. It works reasonably well for basic espresso and milk drinks, but struggles to deliver on its promise of doing everything well.
YouTube · Review
The Ninja Luxe Café is a versatile machine capable of brewing authentic espresso with non-pressurised baskets, drip coffee, and rapid cold brew. It stands out with useful features like an integrated scale for weight-based grinder dosing and an effective automatic milk frother. However, steaming milk is rather slow, the jug spout is poorly shaped for latte art, and there is no simple cancel button once a brew process has started.
YouTube · Review
The Ninja Luxe Café offers exceptional value for money, featuring a mess-free workflow, accurate grind suggestions, and generous cup clearance ideal for beginners. However, the full-size drip coffee and cold brew options produce watery, under-extracted drinks, and the automatic milk frothing is not refined enough for latte art. Overall, it serves as a strong, budget-friendly competitor to entry-level Breville espresso machines.
YouTube · Comparison
The Ninja Luxe is a versatile, highly automated coffee machine that is ideal for beginners, offering espresso, drip coffee, cold brew, and hands-free milk frothing. While coffee aficionados seeking total manual control and optimal espresso sweetness may prefer traditional manual machines, the Ninja Luxe delivers great value for money and reliable results. It also includes useful extras, such as an integrated dosing scale and a hidden manual milk steaming mode.
