The Dedica Arte EC885.BG is De'Longhi's 15 cm-wide manual espresso machine in beige. It has a 15 bar pump, fast thermoblock heating, ground coffee and ESE pod baskets and a manual My LatteArt steam wand, and comes with a tamper and milk jug. Owners rate its strong, crema-rich espresso, simple controls and slim footprint, and once mastered the steam wand is a clear step up from the older Dedica. The downsides are a small tank, pressurised baskets and basic temperature control. You have to wait between steaming and brewing, the machine vibrates while brewing, and some find the wand slow or tricky. A minority report early faults or a stiff portafilter. It suits beginners and pod upgraders short on worktop space, rather than enthusiasts or making drinks for a group. Long-term reliability has not been independently assessed, and UK stock is patchy.

The EC885.BG is the beige (Beige Gold) Dedica Arte, manufacturer part number 0132106256, EAN 8004399024977. Grey (EC885.GY) and metal (EC885.M) versions share the same specification.
It uses a 15 bar pump and thermoblock heating, quoted as ready in 40 seconds. It brews ground coffee or ESE pods in double-wall baskets of up to 16 g, with a 51 mm basket diameter.
It has De'Longhi's manual My LatteArt steam wand, which De'Longhi says produces velvety microfoam for latte art. UK owners describe it as an improvement on the older Dedica's panarello frother.
Coffee quality is the most frequent praise among UK buyers, who mention strong espresso with plenty of crema, good cappuccinos and consistent results, including from ESE pods.
A detailed critical review by an experienced user says the steam wand is slow and needs to recover between drinks. It also says there is no PID temperature control, so shots are inconsistent, and that two units developed faults.
Review excerpts highlighted on Amazon UK include complaints that the portafilter is very hard to insert or gets stuck, and that a machine stopped working after one use.
After steaming, users have to purge the wand and wait for the thermoblock to cool before brewing espresso again. Both an owner and an independent review point this out.
Owners report a period of trial and error to dial in dose and grind and to master the steam wand. One De'Longhi UK buyer found the milk foam not easy to handle.
Availability in the UK is patchy. Argos, Habitat, Homebase and Downtown Stores no longer show the product, AO's page is gone, and Appliances Direct lists it as no longer available. Currys Business and Lakeland show it out of stock. The beige model was found new at a third-party seller on Amazon UK.
An independent (US-based) blog review calls it ideal for solo drinkers or beginners who want 'just the essentials done almost to perfection'. It praises the slim stainless steel build and consistent pressure, and criticises the small tank and the wait after steaming.
The box includes a metal tamper, milk jug, single, double and ESE baskets, descaler and steam wand cleaning needle, so no extra purchases are needed to start.
Several UK owners report it holding up over a year or more of use; one has owned three over many years. This contrasts with the minority who report early faults.

UK owners mostly like the Dedica Arte as a compact, approachable espresso machine and a good step up from pods. They praise strong espresso with good crema, the cappuccinos and lattes it makes, how fuss-free it is to use and the included accessories, and many feel it is good value. Several say it has held up well over a year or more. The steam wand is widely liked once mastered and is seen as better than the older Dedica frother, but expect trial and error with dosing and milk technique. You also have to wait or purge when switching from steaming back to espresso. Critical points include vibration and noise while brewing, a steam wand some find slow or tricky, basic temperature control, a stiff or sticking portafilter, and a few reports of units failing early.

I’ve had the De’Longhi Dedica Arte EC885.BG for a few weeks now and love it. It looks great on the counter and doesn’t take up much space at all, which was a big plus for my kitchen. Using it is really easy, even if you’re not a barista. I was pulling good tasting espresso right away, and the coffee comes out rich and smooth with a nice crema every time. The steam wand is better than I expected too. it froths milk really well for lattes and cappuccinos once you get the hang of it.

Pretty much the perfect beginner-intermediate machine for the budding coffee aficionado. … Coffee temperature is ideal for good tasting coffee, noise level is akin to an average espresso machine (no issues!) and the price is incredible for the package you get! It has 3 functions - single espresso, double espresso and the steam function, which you have to let it “load” to the correct heat for the steam and then if you want to revert back to espresso you have to open the steam valve and wait for the steam to leave …

… The De-Longi has a thermal block, without boilers or temperature regulation. … The same quality beans taste much worse on the De-Longhi, it does not produce a good creme. The variable temperature, without PID, means that it is inconsistent as well. The steam wand on this is a absolute joke. It is very slow, can't even do 2 small milky coffees without resting to recover. … I bought two, as the first De Longhi was unreliable and broke after 2 weeks. This one has also gone faulty. …

This is perfect for the person who likes espresso and the milky coffee as well. Took me a while to get the measurements right to produce the perfect espresso. It's alot of trail and loads of errors. … Can't fault the machine.

Excellent build quality easy to operate and plenty of accessories, not too difficult to clean either. Makes a good cup of coffee too!

This 'entry level ' machine is excellent and very good value for money. The dual height facility, choice of fill duration and temperature control produces a fine cup of coffee with excellent flavour and crema

… It is my second espresso machine of this specification. I have been using it for a few weeks now and has met expectation. Good value.

Makes a great coffee.. easy to use with consistent results.

… Beautiful coffee for someone who loves coffee and needs strong espressos, with loads of crema. I know it is because of the double bottom effect, but I am not nerdy about my coffee, but like a traditional pump, with minimum fuss, The brother for lattes/ cappuccinos is excellent too - much better than the basic Deduce models. However it does seem to vibrate a lot and 2 espresso cups judder along and can lose the pour target and fall off! …

Always a great machine, I have had three over many years, gifted two away, makes great coffee

Steam wand took a few goes to learn but glad I got this version. I have the previous cheaper version too and it’s very ok if you remove the auto frother (panarello) attachment and cable tie the silicone to stop it blowing off under pressure. That doesn’t look quite so good as this newer version though. Waited for Black Friday.

First time using a De'Lomghi and easy to use, though a bit noisy at first + coffee is hot, not like my old machine. I always have a mug, so just choose double shot twice and makes a decent coffee too.

Researched forever before buying this particular model after owning a Francis Francis machine for years and can honestly say it's exceeded my expectations and would highly recommend 👍

I had the EC685, but then I decided to level up and get the EC885, mainly for an upgraded new frother design. Totally worth it! This thing makes some seriously solid coffee, and the milk frother is great upgrade.

I've now had this coffee machine for almost a year and am really loving it. It's easy to use, it makes good coffee, what more do you need? I managed to work out the steam wand which was the only bit I hadn't ever used one of before, so was worried it would confuse the life out of me, but no, all worked out! … I didn't want to spend huge amounts but wanted an upgrade from my pod coffee machine. I am really pleased I chose this one, it was a good step up.

Our very expensive Sage coffee maker although it made excellent coffee has died. This coffee machine is proving to be a good replacement. My husband is very pleased with the coffee he makes. He finds it simple to use and takes up little space on the worktop. I'm back to my pre SAGE mocha maker.

1. Not easy to handle the milk foam for latte.
2. I am not using the orginal powder holder and case for easy control espresso output.

Delonghi Dedica Arte EC885 Espresso Machine: Review & Test
The De'Longhi Dedica Arte EC885 is a compact, 150 mm-wide espresso machine that heats up in around 30 seconds and offers programmable volumetric dosing. Its major upgrade over previous Dedica models is a proper commercial-style cool-touch steam wand that produces quality microfoam for latte art. While the portafilter can initially be stiff to lock into place, it offers exceptional value and performance for its price point.
The De'Longhi Dedica Arte is a sleek, compact espresso machine that serves as an excellent starter option for home baristas. It includes notable upgrades over older Dedica models, such as a solid metal tamper and a professional steam wand capable of producing microfoam for latte art. Although dialling in the coffee grind can take some trial and error, it delivers rich espresso shots with generous crema.
Delonghi Dedica Comparison - EC680 vs EC685 vs EC885 vs EC890 vs EC950
The De'Longhi Dedica Arte (EC885) updates the classic Dedica platform with a commercial-style steam wand, an included metal tamper, and a milk jug. Although manual milk steaming requires practice and the thermoblock needs to be manually cooled down after steaming, it allows users to create far silkier microfoam for latte art. It is a compelling compact espresso machine for home baristas wanting greater control over milk frothing.
How to Steam Milk on the Delonghi Dedica Arte EC885
This video demonstrates how to steam milk using the steam wand on the De'Longhi Dedica Arte EC885. While it does not offer the strongest steam pressure and requires patience, it provides sufficient power to create smooth, silky microfoam suitable for latte art.
