The De'Longhi Dedica Duo is a 15 cm-wide manual espresso machine with a 15 bar pump, 1450 W thermoblock, 1.1 L tank and a manual My LatteArt steam wand. It adds a one-touch Cold Brew preset and a touch-icon control panel to the Dedica formula. UK buyers like the coffee quality, the very small footprint, the looks and the easy cleaning. The main drawbacks are a real learning curve for espresso and milk steaming, and steam performance that some users and Tom's Guide find weak. There is also no proper hot water function for americanos, and the supplied baskets are pressurised, which limits enthusiasts. It suits people with little worktop space who mainly make espresso, lattes and quick iced coffee and are happy to practise. Long-term reliability is not yet established, as the reviews available are recent.
Before you buy
What the features mean in everyday use.
The Dedica Duo EC890.M is a manual pump espresso machine. It has a 15 bar pump, 1450 W power, thermoblock heating and a removable 1.1 L water tank.
The body is about 15 cm wide (H30.5 x W14.9 x D33 cm), so it suits small worktops.
De'Longhi says there are three one-touch presets (Espresso, Double Espresso, Cold Brew), and that Cold Brew takes under five minutes using its Cold Extraction Technology.
Milk is textured by hand with the My LatteArt steam wand (MS21), which has a cool-touch design. There is no automatic milk function.
The machine is controlled with touch icons and LED indicators on its top surface. There are no buttons on the front.
The supplied single and double baskets are double-wall (pressurised). One Argos reviewer says this, and Tom's Guide criticises it as limiting espresso flavour for enthusiasts.
Coffee quality is the most frequently praised point in UK store reviews. Several buyers compare it to coffee-shop espresso.
Buyers often praise the slim footprint and the looks, especially for small kitchens.
Argos reviewers frequently describe it as easy to use and easy to clean, including the drip tray. They note that the machine prompts for cleaning and descaling.
Many reviewers say that dialling in espresso and steaming milk takes practice. Some find the whole process faffy compared with a cafetière or French press.
Reports on the steam wand are mixed. Several Argos buyers praise it, but some Amazon UK buyers say milk (including almond milk) does not froth well. Tom's Guide found the steam pressure weak and pulsing, and Amazon's own review summary flags weak steam pressure.
There is no dedicated hot water function. Reviewers who drink americanos say topping up through the steam wand is slow and messy.
Two reviewers describe the steam wand as noisy, and one finds the espresso cooler than expected. The temperature can be changed through a button sequence, which one reviewer called a faff.
Buyers who mention cold brew like having iced coffee quickly. One reviewer adds that it is not as good as an overnight cold brew.
One UK Amazon buyer reported a unit that did not work or heat. The reviews sampled are mostly recent, so long-term durability cannot be judged from them.
Tom's Guide rated it 3.5/5. It found the machine easy to use, with good accessories and pleasant cold brew, but criticised the pressurised baskets and the price compared with rivals such as the Breville Bambino. The Which? lab results are paywalled.
One reviewer notes that the water tank has no handle and is awkward to carry when full.
De'Longhi UK and John Lewis state a 2-year warranty. Argos and AO list a 1-year manufacturer guarantee on their pages.
When checked, the main UK retailers had it reduced from a £279.99–£280 list price to about £181–£200 (AO and Amazon £181, Argos £199, De'Longhi and John Lewis £199.99).
Based on the specifications and reviews, it best suits espresso and milk-drink makers with little counter space who are willing to learn manual steaming. It suits americano drinkers, plant-milk users and enthusiasts who want non-pressurised baskets less well.

Summarised from the 23 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 23.
UK buyers mostly praise the espresso itself: rich, hot, and close to coffee-shop quality once the grind and technique are right. The slim body and looks also suit small kitchens. Many find it easy to use and to clean, and like that it prompts for descaling. Cold brew is seen as a handy quick iced coffee, though not a match for overnight cold brew. The most common reservation is the learning curve: steaming milk and getting a good shot take practice, and some call the routine faffy. Views on the steam wand are split. Some get good microfoam, while others report weak froth, especially with plant milk, and a noisy wand. Americano drinkers complain that adding hot water through the wand is slow and messy. Isolated reports mention a unit that would not heat and espresso cooler than expected.

Great Coffee Machine! Really easy to use and clean! Looks great in my kitchen and sleek! Very quiet and the cord length is useful. I can tell this will last a long time as the build quality is second to none.

This machine fits my needs perfectly. Im not a fan of coffee pods & I generally only drink coffee at the weekend therfore, bean to cup isn't ideal. Shopped around before purchasing the Delongi & so pleased I did as it makes my coffee exactly how I like it.
F*** 4/5 10 September 2026 Argos
The downsides of this machine are that the water tank lacks a handle making it difficult to hold especially when full and if you want more than a simple espresso you’ll either have to wait…

Absolutely brilliant coffee machine. It's so slim, and looks fabulous on my home desk! I love how easy it is to use and clean. Makes delicious cappuccino, latte, double espressos, and cold brews…

Not only does this look good, it's perfect for a small kitchen where it fits in nice and sleekly and takes up minimal room. It was a tad tricky to begin but once set up its works a treat. Great coffee amount and really easy to clean…

needs a couple of goes in getting your espresso just right and the steam arms pressure can take a moment to get it to where it needs to be, but I find this with all home coffee machines…

It’s stylish, slim, easy to use, and makes great coffee. Comes with 2 (single/double shot) double-wall (pressurised) baskets for ground coffee. The milk steam wand is great too (doesn’t get too hot to touch after use either)…

Great coffee machine. Really easy to use. Can use for loads of different things. I really enjoyed making iced coffee. The milk frother is great. I would highly recommend. It fits great in my kitchen didn't take up too much room. Great value for money

Dedica Duo EC890 is a great machine for its range. One of the biggest advantages is the compact size, ideal for small kitchens, taking minimum space in the counter. Compared to some other more pricey options, this machine is more manual in terms of making the foam (I mainly do caffe latte), so you need to learn and practice a bit but once you do, you get excellent results. The coffee is really good, provided you use the right type of coffee (the first time I bought a too coarse one and didn’t work well)…

Really love thus expresso machine, relatively easy to use, just need to practice using the wand to froth the milk, otherwise a superb machine. Looks great too!

…It has taken several tries to develop the right technique to get good results. Cons - The steam wand is quite noisy and the espresso temperature is lower than we are used to enjoying. Pros - less waste than cafetières, great coffee taste…

very disapointed in this machine it was not cheap and our cheaper version was better ? milk does not froth well and does not take e pods
J*** 3/5 14 July 2026 Amazon
Great machine if you like espresso/cappuccino type drinks but if like me you prefer an americano or long black, then it’s probably not for you. Whilst you can add hot water to drinks, it’s incredibly slow and messy and I get better results just using a cafetière. I can’t have cows milk and the almond milk I use does not froth at all, whereas it does in my stand alone milk frother. It does make lovely hot coffee though but just not worth the price for me when it doesn’t make what I like.

This is a very compact machine. Very easy to use as switch it on, sort out your portafilter etc and when ready lights go solid. It is very quick to heat up for coffee and steam. It has 4 buttons single shot, double shot cold brew and steam. Push the button for what you want. You can change the temperature by pressing the buttons in a set sequence bit of a faff so you wouldn't want to change everytime…

The De'Longhi Dedica Duo EC890 retains the compact, slim footprint of the Dedica series and introduces a 5-minute cold brew function alongside touch-capacitive controls. While it can produce decent espresso with either pressurized or unpressurized baskets, its steam wand suffers from exceptionally weak steam pressure, making frothing milk for lattes and cappuccinos slow and frustrating.
YouTube · Review
The De'Longhi Dedica Duo is a compact manual espresso machine that delivers traditional espresso preparation alongside rapid cold brew extraction in a slim 15 cm body. While it lacks a built-in grinder and features a limited menu of preset drinks, it provides hands-on control with a manual steam wand and fast thermoblock heating. It is an ideal option for coffee enthusiasts who want cafe-style drinks without sacrificing countertop space.
YouTube · Comparison
The De'Longhi Dedica Duo EC890 introduces notable upgrades over older Dedica models, including a dedicated cold brew extraction mode, a deeper 16-gram filter basket, and increased cup clearance to accommodate a scale. While it produces a richer and sweeter espresso, steam pressure takes slightly longer to build up compared to previous iterations.
YouTube · Comparison
The De'Longhi Dedica Duo is a compact and beginner-friendly home espresso machine that improves upon the classic Dedica with useful new accessories and features. It introduces a cold extraction function for quick iced coffee drinks, an improved steam wand tip, and bundled accessories like a proper tamper and milk jug. While temperature stability remains typical for an affordable thermoblock machine, it represents good value for entry-level home baristas.
