The Swan Nordic One Touch (SK22150GRYN, Slate Grey) is a budget, Scandi-styled espresso machine. It takes ground coffee or ESE pods and makes espresso, cappuccino or latte at the touch of a button, using a detachable 500 ml milk tank and a 1.7 litre water tank. Owners like the coffee's taste, the quick heat-up, the ease of use and the looks. The automatic froth divides opinion, preset cup sizes need trial and error, and the build is mostly plastic. Some owners find the coffee weak, and the 15 vs 20 bar pressure claim is inconsistent. Several report faults from day one or within a year, so long-term durability is uncertain. It suits beginners who want push-button milky drinks, not aspiring home baristas. It appears discontinued in the UK, with new stock unavailable and mainly used units on sale.
Before you buy
What the features mean in everyday use.
Swan's manual for SK22150 (all colours) lists 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz and a power consumption of 1250 W.
The machine has a detachable 1.7 litre water tank and a detachable 500 ml milk tank, so several drinks can be made between refills.
Espresso, cappuccino and latte each have their own button. Press once for a small cup and twice for a large one; the milk is frothed automatically from the milk tank.
Swan claims a 90-second preheat, steam pressure control and a self-priming system. The machine takes ground coffee and ESE pods, but not beans.
Published specifications disagree. Swan's own description on Amazon UK and B&Q says 15 bars, while the Amazon UK title and spec table say 20 bars. Power is 1250 W in the manual and 1100 W on Amazon UK. One UK buyer says the box states 15 bar.
Most UK buyers and Real Homes' tester praise the coffee as tasty, hot and strong, comparing it favourably with coffee-shop drinks.
Opinions on the automatic milk system are split. Several owners like the frothy milk and the removable tank. Real Homes and some buyers find the froth coarse, with large bubbles that collapse quickly, and unsuitable for latte art; one household uses a separate frother.
Real Homes found the process messy with coffee grounds at every use. If the portafilter is not twisted fully into place, pressure can force it out. Some buyers report drips after brewing.
The preset drink sizes take adjusting to: the small sizes are very small, and the large ones can overflow mugs.
The body, tools and wood-effect trim are plastic. Some buyers find it looks or feels cheap, and a few noticed a plastic taste at first; one needed repeated vinegar flushes to clear it. Light finishes such as cream can discolour.
Many UK buyers like the Scandi look in grey and blue, calling it stunning or gorgeous on the counter.
The Slate Grey and Blue Amazon UK listings are 'Currently unavailable'. B&Q's blue and white pages are sold out, eBay UK's grey and green catalogue pages are sold out, and Kettle and Toaster Man's white model is out of stock. Only used units turn up on eBay UK, so the machine appears to be discontinued in the UK.
The machine came with a 2-year warranty.
Real Homes recommends it for students and for people who enjoy a milky coffee without wanting barista skills. A UK buyer calls it good for beginners but too fiddly for 3-4 coffees a day.
Buyers widely find it easy to set up and use, with one button for each drink. Several say it is easy to clean, though one found the milk tank awkward to clean and another found the filters clogged after a few uses.
Several buyers report faults. One machine's electrics failed after about three months, and the warranty repair agent said it could not be repaired. Another stopped working properly after about a year. Two buyers say their machine did not work from the start, and one says milk stopped coming out of the frothing tube despite regular descaling.
The latte and cappuccino buttons only work when the milk tank is fully seated. One buyer's tank was stiff, and until it was pushed fully in only the espresso lights came on.
A minority of buyers find the espresso weak or the pressure lacking, and one says the machine is noisy. A buyer suggests using finely ground coffee, as supermarket pre-ground can make weak espresso.

See the common points first, then read the original reviews yourself.
Summarised from the 28 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 28.
UK owners mostly like the coffee: espresso, cappuccino and latte at a button press, with tasty, hot results and a short heat-up. Many find it easy to set up and use, praise the Scandi look, and like the large water and removable milk tanks. Complaints focus on build and consistency. The body and 'wood' trim are plastic, some noticed a plastic taste at first, and a minority find the coffee weak or doubt the advertised pressure. The automatic froth divides opinion, with some finding it coarse, and some units drip or clog. Several owners report faults: units that failed out of the box or within months, milk that stopped flowing, and slow warranty repairs. Overall it is seen as a stylish, beginner-friendly machine rather than one for coffee enthusiasts.

J*** 5/5 12 April 2021 Amazon Reviewer describes the blue model
I was hesitant to get this machine based on some of the reviews commenting on the difficulty in cleaning this machine. Don't let them fool you, I've been using it twice a day for a month now and it's pristine! It's VERY easy to clean. The espresso is perfect every time, the milk wand takes a little getting used to though - but once you get the hang of it you get great results. Just bear in mind that this is a short machine so you won't get your fancy tall latte glasses under it (I forgot to check the dimensions) but any other cup fits.…

We purchased this machine in June, and by September the electrics had packed up. The response to our claim on the warranty was extremely slow, but the machine was eventually returned to the official repair agent. After 10 weeks when it was almost impossible to obtain any response from the repair agent, let alone any information about the progress of any work, the machine was returned in appalling broken packaging with no information. Swan eventually said the agent claimed that the machine could not be repaired.…

As far as good quality, tasty coffee is concerned it's hard to beat a coffee shop and a professional Barista, or a 'break the bank' Gagglia! This Swan appliance isn't up to scratch... it doesn't froth well, fresh milk still tastes of plastic after several months of use and no matter what coffee I use, the taste just isn't there... Disappointed.

What was really a no go for me is that this machine is actually 15 BAR machine only, not 20 BAR. You can see it on the box and you can find it by how coffee tastes.
d*** 5/5 15 July 2021 Amazon Slate Grey listing
This coffee machine is brilliant. I had a breville one cup which was great, but this is far better. There is one thing people need to know. It took 2 bottles of white vinegar to clear the plastic taste from the inside. It took a couple of hours, but after that. Just brilliant.

I've had it for a month now and there's no sign of any staining or mess so I can only conclude that either I've been lucky like the other Which subscribers or some people just like to moan about stuff on the Internet.

It is the bestcoffe make r what i ever had. 20bars pressure, not too quiet but very eficient to make a home coffe. Plus is: you can put large size of your favourite mug inside the place where coffe going not only small cup like in others coffe makers, you have a 3 kind of coffe-americana, cappucino and late with two sizes (small and large).…

I was charged a lot more then is being advertised and should be refunded the difference. Had the product since July last year no longer works properly. Personally would advise a manual one over an automatic. It’s fine if you don’t care how your coffee tastes and don’t know how a late should look.
M*** M*** 4/5 2 July 2023 Amazon Blue SK22150BLUN
After setting up the machine only the two top espresso lights were illuminated and I couldn’t initiate the latte or cappuccino function - it turns out the milk tank wasn’t pushed in enough as it was quite stiff and it prevented the machine from using those two functions (even though it allowed me to produce steam through the wand).
S*** 5/5 6 December 2021 Amazon Blue SK22150BLUN
Bought this as it was a Which? Best Buy. Wasn’t disappointed. For the money it is a cracking little machine and makes brilliant coffee. Easy to use and clean.… It does, however, drip! We just leave a small bowl underneath to catch the drips so it’s really no big deal.
A*** 1/5 22 June 2021 Amazon Blue SK22150BLUN
Looks cartoonish, the colour in real life looks cheap, everything about this machine feels like you were mugged off your money. The machine produces very average froth and the quality of coffee is poor, I am very disappointed considering the prices, plus it is cumbersome and not easy to clean the milk tank :(
G*** 4/5 2 December 2022 Amazon Blue SK22150BLUN
It’s very pretty, easy to use and makes good coffees. However it’s a lot and I mean a lot of plastic. I thought just maybe for the price it was at the wood would be real but unfortunately that was plastic too.…

It’s ok but after a few uses the filters get clogged up. You have to unscrew 3 screws on the coffee filter to access and change it.

Great coffee maker thats easy to use and produces espressos, capuccinos and lattes up to coffee shop standard and maybe better. Easy to choose the type and size of your coffee and produce lovely frothy milk for hot chocolate. Simple initial set up and operation. The water tank has plenty of capacity as has the milk tank. Looks good and slightly retro.…
