The Ninja Luxe Café Mini ES301UK is a compact semi-automatic espresso machine that also brews filter coffee. It has a built-in grinder and scale, guided grind recommendations, an assisted tamper and a powerful manual steam wand. Owners mainly praise how easily it makes good, café-style coffee and its small footprint and solid build. Its weaker points are manual milk steaming and grind dialling, which take practice, a portafilter some find stiff to lock, brief grinder noise, and no hot water outlet. Buyers who want hands-free milk frothing should look at the Mini Plus. It suits beginners moving up from pod machines, and people who like some hands-on control in a small kitchen. Independent lab tests and long-term reliability data are not yet available, as the machine is new.

What the features mean in everyday use.
The UK model is the Ninja Luxe Café Mini ES301UK (EAN 622356387149). It is sold in one black and stainless steel finish.
A compact 2-in-1 machine that makes espresso and filter coffee. It has a built-in grinder, a precision scale, an assisted tamper and a manual steam wand.
Barista Assist Technology recommends a grind size from 60 settings and monitors the brew. The machine has 3 strengths and 3 temperatures.
It measures about 34.1 x 30.9 x 26 cm and weighs 8.6 kg. SharkNinja and Argos say it is 30% smaller than the Luxe Café Pro.
1650 W, 9-bar pump and thermoblock heating. Bean hopper 250 g. The water tank is listed as 1.3 L or 1.4 L depending on the retailer.
Milk is frothed by hand with the steam wand. Hands-free frothing is on the dearer Mini Plus ES352UK. Argos lists no hot water option.
Comes with a 2-year guarantee; retailers state that the second year requires registration.
Many reviewers say the machine is easy to set up and use. The instructions, how-to stickers and guide videos help beginners.
Reviewers often praise the coffee as rich, smooth and café-like, and better than the pod machines they used before.
Owners with small kitchens like that it fits the worktop and looks smart. One Amazon reviewer found it larger than the 'Mini' name suggests.
Several owners needed practice with manual milk steaming and a few attempts to dial in grind and crema. One noted that grind recalibration uses up beans.
Two reviewers say the portafilter takes a lot of force to lock in. One says the machine slides on the worktop while doing so.
One Argos reviewer had a unit replaced under warranty after odd noises and a leak. They also found results inconsistent and the machine over-complicated.
Single reports of minor issues: the drip tray needs emptying after 4-6 cups, the silver finish shows watermarks, the Classic and Rich brews are too mild for one black-coffee drinker, the milk jug is small, and the compact tank and hopper need frequent top-ups.
The visible reviews are recent (July-October 2026) and many were written in return for something. SharkNinja reviews carry an 'Incentivised' badge, Argos reviews are syndicated from sharkninja.eu with a prize draw, and the Amazon reviews are Vine reviews of a free product. Long-term durability is therefore not yet established.
Which? lists tests only for the larger Luxe Café Pro and Premier models, not the Mini.
Applies to the model family
Widely sold in the UK: SharkNinja, Amazon, Argos, Currys, Very, Euronics, Appliances Direct and Atlantic Electrics. John Lewis lists only the Mini Plus and Premier.
Several reviewers find the steam wand powerful and easy to wipe clean, giving good microfoam once mastered.
Two Amazon reviewers say it is briefly noisy while grinding. Some reviewers call it a considerable investment, though most think the quality justifies it.

User experience

Summarised from the 5 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 5.
Reviewers liked the coffee quality, integrated grinding and ability to switch between espresso and filter coffee. They generally found the machine approachable after familiarisation and praised the milk textures achievable with the steam wand. The main reservations concerned the practice needed for manual frothing, occasional difficulty judging milk temperature and noticeable grinder noise. Views on size differed: some found it neatly compact, while another felt it occupied more worktop space than the Mini name suggested. Cleaning was described as straightforward, although the machine was also considered a substantial investment.
Summarised from 5 reviews. The summary is drawn from opinions that recur in the reviews read; each theme shows how many reviews mention it. These counts are not a rate and do not apply to every unit.
Counted five UK text reviews parsed from Amazon s1 HTML and deduplicated by author, date and text. All five were Vine free-product reviews; default top-review order, not a random sample. Ambiguous records and gallery duplicates were excluded. No rating-only entries were counted. Full recent-review access was blocked; other checked stores yielded no usable review text.

Plonked this on the worktop, and it’s taken over morning routines completely. It turns out proper coffee-shop drinks without any of the usual snobbery or complicated setup. The built-in grinder chops up fresh beans right into the handle, filling the whole kitchen with a proper lush coffee smell first thing in the morning.…

The manual milk frother works well, although getting the milk exactly how you want it takes a little practice and effort. It's perfectly capable, but it's not quite as convenient as having the machine handle that part automatically.

What really impressed me during these seven days was how quickly I could get a proper cappuccino using the steam wand. The milk frothing system creates a rich microfoam texture that feels authentic compared to anything I made before, and cleaning the steam wand is effortless as it wipes clean with just a bit of water.
A*** 4/5 16 October 2026 Amazon Black; Manual Frother ES301UK. Vine free-product review.
Barista Assist gave sensible grind and brew nudges, and the steam wand makes decent foam once you practise a bit, though I still mess up the temperature sometimes, whoops. But it is a touch noisy when grinding and the control panel takes a short learning curve.
D*** 5/5 10 October 2026 Amazon Black; Manual Frother ES301UK. Vine free-product review.
The grind recommendations have seemed pretty good for the beans we've tried this with so far, and it's made consistent shots of espresso that alow you to taste the coffee itself with no burnt aftertaste.
