At a glance

The XN911NG0 is a black Nespresso Vertuo Next-type pod machine by Krups, bundled with an Aeroccino milk frother and 12 starter pods. It brews five barcode-set sizes from a 40 ml espresso to a 545 ml carafe and has a 1.1-litre tank, app connectivity and a 2-year guarantee. Owners consistently praise the coffee and find it simple, quick and stylish. Downsides: Vertuo pods come only from Nespresso and cost more than supermarket pods; some owners find it loud, bulky or the capsule lock stiff, and a few report unreliable units or lukewarm coffee. New stock in the UK is essentially Currys-only. It suits Nespresso fans wanting big mugs and milky drinks, not buyers after cheap, widely available pods. Long-term reliability of this exact bundle is untested.

Pod system

The machine only works with Nespresso Vertuo capsules. It reads a barcode on each capsule to set up the brew and uses Nespresso's Centrifusion (spinning) brewing.

Model family

XN911NG0 appears to be the current code for Currys' black Vertuo Next with Aeroccino. Currys pools its reviews with its earlier 'Vertuo Next XN911840 Pod Coffee Machine with Milk Frother - Black' listing and the machine-only Vertuo Next XN910N40. Currys Business files it under 'nespresso-by-krups-next-milk', and Krups UK lists a black Vertuo Next & Aeroccino as XN911840.

Independent test (family)

TechRadar's review of the base Vertuo Next (without the Aeroccino) found it makes consistently smooth espressos and americanos and is very easy to use. Its listed downsides were expensive pods, the need for a separate milk frother (included in this bundle) and pods that could be easier to recycle.

Owners overwhelmingly praise the coffee: tasty espresso and mugs with good crema, often called coffee-shop quality. They find it simple and quick to use, and many like the sleek look and the built-in bin for used capsules. Buyers of this bundle like the included milk frother. The main complaints are about the Vertuo system: pods come only from Nespresso, often by subscription, and cost more than supermarket pods. Some owners find it loud, bulky or the capsule lock stiff. A few report a unit that worked unreliably or coffee that was not hot enough, and some found setup or the multilingual instructions confusing. Much of this feedback comes from owners of the same Vertuo Next machine sold with or without the frother.

H*** 3/5 5 October 2026 Currys XN911NG0 (Currys SKU 10293644)

I live the way this machine looks and all The coffee is great but please note this requires Virtuo pods and these are not sold in supermarkets nor are they as cheap as other pods. This means you have to buy direct from Nespresso and get deliveries- I think this has meant it is not as good value for money. Obviously the price I paid and the deal with free pods etc was an excellent price.
K*** 4/5 25 September 2026 Currys XN911NG0 (Currys SKU 10293644)

Glad it was on a half price offer as wouldn’t have been so happy I prefer my old Nespresso model original pods although I must say coffee taste is good

C*** 2/5 13 January 2023 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN911840 with Milk Frother, Black (earlier listing)

Good Points: It is very temperamental, I had to exchange for another one as the first one did not work every time. It can be very easy and good to use when it works well...but very noisy. Improvement Points: It would be fantastic I the notice of the machine can be reduced.
W*** 5/5 7 January 2023 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN911840 with Milk Frother, Black (earlier listing)

H*** 5/5 20 March 2025 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

Best maternity leave purchase Slick and quick with excellent coffee Really good value signing up for the 50 free pods too
M*** 3/5 8 October 2024 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

It’s very convenient but it might take a while to find a pod that you like. I think it is much more successful with short coffees than longer ones. I’ve gone down to a couple of double espressos that work very well. I have found some long coffees pretty much undrinkable. Don’t want to be too negative because the short ones are pretty good and very easy to use.
C*** 5/5 18 February 2023 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

Good Points: Really good coffee Improvement Points: The lock is really stiff, especially if you have arthritic hands.

Good Points: None Improvement Points: Everything
J*** 4/5 29 December 2022 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

Improvement Points: the locking of the cartridge takes a bit of effort, which might not be everybody's cuppa....you do need a strong hand. Not sure about the froth on top of the coffee....seems a bit exagerated
S*** 1/5 27 December 2022 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

Improvement Points: Doesn’t seem to heat the water up, chocolate fudge capsules are not what I thought
P*** 5/5 18 December 2022 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

Good Points: First saw one on holiday and used it every day! Very simple to use and very tasty coffee. So bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister who loved everything about it to! Improvement Points: Only thing is you can’t buy anywhere except subscription!
D*** 5/5 4 August 2022 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

Good Points: Easy to use.Makes very good coffee. Very wide range of coffee. Improvement Points: Very loud when making the coffee. The pods full price quite expensive.
D*** 4/5 19 January 2022 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

Good Points: Really great little machine, little fiddly to set up and understand how to order coffee. Improvement Points: Warmer coffee you have to drink it right away
C*** 4/5 5 January 2022 Currys Currys Vertuo Next XN910N40 (machine only, pooled)

Good Points: Slim and slick design - love the Matt black Improvement Points: The corners of the drip tray - capsule collector tray makes it difficult to clean properly
S*** H*** 4/5 19 December 2022 Currys AO Vertuo Next XN910N40 (pooled via Feefo)

Great machine, ideal if you have a small kitchen, while it's not quiet I've had noisier Nespresso machines in the past. Makes a great crema on an espresso. Haven't done a full clean on it yet as I've only just bought it, so don't know how easy it is but looks simple. Only downside is that you can only get Nespresso pods as far as I can see.
H*** 5/5 20 August 2022 Currys AO Vertuo Next XN910N40 (pooled via Feefo)

Lovely coffee machine. The old nespresso never used to make my coffee as hot as I liked but this new version is perfect.

Simple to use, great tasting ciffee
t*** 3/5 12 October 2021 Currys Nespresso UK Vertuo Next, Black (pooled via Feefo)

Good Points: Fairly straight forward to use and makes a quick coffee , the used pod bin is very usefull Improvement Points: not the easiest to set up , takes a long time to make a coffee compared to other machines and the wifi bluetooth feature seems to be confusing more than usefull
M*** 4/5 11 October 2021 Currys Nespresso UK Vertuo Next, Black (pooled via Feefo)

Good Points: Produces outstanding tasting coffee. The design is sleek and modern. Not as loud as other coffee pod machines. Has Wifi/Bluetooth connectivity so you can do more within the app. Very easy to clean. Improvement Points: A larger water tank, or the option to use a larger water tank would be great.…
J*** 5/5 17 October 2021 Currys Nespresso UK Vertuo Next, Black (pooled via Feefo)

Good Points: The machine isn’t as noisy as old traditional machines and is straight forward to use. Improvement Points: The instructions were hard to follow with the different languages mixed in. The machine also takes up quite a bit of room
G*** 5/5 16 October 2021 Currys Nespresso UK Vertuo Next, Black (pooled via Feefo)

Good Points: The machine connects with an app that tells you when it needs cleaning. The quality of coffee is really great Improvement Points: The size of the machine is quite big as you also need to purchase a milk frother.

How we evaluate, and the limits

This page is compiled from manufacturer, store, review and video sources; every piece of information links to the source it was read from. Technical values are as stated by the manufacturer or store; user experiences are summarised from the reviews read and do not apply to every unit. We do not test products ourselves.
