The Bosch Tassimo Finesse Friendly (TAS162EGB) is a small, simple pod machine for Tassimo T DISCs. It reads each disc's barcode to set the brew and has an IntensityBoost button for a stronger coffee. Owners praise how easy and quick it is and how little worktop space it takes, and many feel it is good value when discounted. The clear weak point is the small 0.7 l tank at the back, which owners repeatedly find too small and fiddly to remove, fill and refit. There is no milk frother or hot-water-only option, and pod costs, especially for milk drinks, add up over time. UK prices vary greatly between retailers. It suits light coffee drinkers who want one-button convenience in a small kitchen. Long-term reliability has not been independently confirmed.

What the features mean in everyday use.
TAS162EGB is the black (recycled black) Tassimo Finesse Friendly, GTIN 4242005441242. The red version is TAS163EGB and the cream version is TAS167PGB.
Compact, light machine: 265 x 157 x 366 mm and about 2.1 kg, rated at 1400 W, with a 0.7 l water tank.
IntensityBoost: holding the button for 3 seconds makes a stronger coffee from the same pod. Drink strength is customisable.
Uses Tassimo T DISCs only. Intellibrew reads each disc's barcode to set the brew. Bosch quotes up to 50 drinks from brands including L'OR, Kenco and Costa. Drinks are ready without a heat-up phase.
There is no steam wand or milk frother. Milky drinks rely on separate milk T DISCs.
Cleaning and descaling run as programmes using a T DISC, with a descaling indicator. The outlet, piercing unit, cup stand and disc holder are dishwasher-safe. No water filter is included.
Buyers on Argos and Amazon UK often describe the machine as simple to set up and use.
Reviewers like the small, slim footprint for limited worktop space.
Many buyers see it as good value, especially when bought on discount.
Several reviewers praise the IntensityBoost button and say drinks come out hot and quickly. Some say it is better than their previous Tassimo.
The rear-mounted 0.7 l tank is the most common complaint. Reviewers on Amazon UK and the Tassimo UK shop say it is small, needs frequent refilling and is awkward to remove, fill and refit. TechRadar also lists the small tank as a con.
A minority of Argos reviewers were disappointed. One found the drinks not nice and the machine poor value; another said it was not as expected. One satisfied buyer found some servings small.
TechRadar rated it 4/5: compact, light and very easy to use. It warned that T DISC costs can offset the low machine price, particularly for milk drinks that need two discs.
Which? has tested the TAS162EGB and highlights the hold-to-intensify button and one-touch dispensing. Its score and verdict are paywalled.
An Argos Q&A answer states there is no hot-water-only option, and that Costa capsules (non-Tassimo) are not compatible.
Comes with a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee.
UK prices vary widely between retailers on the same day, from Amazon's discounted price to Currys' much higher full price, so shopping around matters.
No independent reliability data was visible (the Which? data is paywalled). One Amazon buyer said a previous Tassimo lasted under two years but bought again, and one Tassimo-shop buyer returned a unit that leaked. Long-term durability is unconfirmed.
The Amazon.co.uk rating pools the Black, Cream, Red and White colour options of the Finesse Friendly.
Applies to the model family
Isolated complaints on the Tassimo UK shop: one machine leaked from the bottom and was returned for a refund. One owner found the pictogram instructions hard to understand. One doubted the 'Intense' function, saying it just pushes more water through the pod.

User experience
See the common points first, then read the original reviews yourself.
Summarised from the 26 reviews we read. A review can mention several points, so the theme counts can add up to more than 26.
Owners commonly appreciate the compact footprint and straightforward operation, particularly for everyday drinks in smaller kitchens. Positive comments also mention easy cleaning, a useful choice of drinks and hot results. Experiences with the water tank differ: some find refilling easy, while another finds access and refitting awkward and the mechanism stiff. Other reservations include a less sturdy feel than an older machine, small servings and dissatisfaction with drink taste and value.
Summarised from 26 reviews; 1 reviews about delivery, packaging or the seller were left out. The summary is drawn from opinions that recur in the reviews read; each theme shows how many reviews mention it. These counts are not a rate and do not apply to every unit.
Parsed and deduplicated by author+date+text: 16 Currys/Feefo texts and 10 Argos texts, including two one-star reviews; five Currys rating-only entries excluded. One gift-centred text and one Argos text describing brown were excluded from themes. Amazon supplied no texts. Samples fell below the target; totals were not added because scopes and syndication differ.

Got this coffee machine at a really good offer price. It’s less sturdy than our previous model of same make but hoping for the price it will last as long. It’s neat in shape so doesn’t take up much room on worktop and very easy to use for super tasting tassimo Colombian coffee!

Stiff to operate and reservoir difficult for access and tricky to fit. Nowhere as good as Krupps Pixie
