The Nespresso Vertuo Pop ENV90.B is De'Longhi's black version of Nespresso's smallest Vertuo pod machine. One button reads each capsule's code and brews espresso, mug-size and cold-brew coffees with Vertuo's signature crema. It is compact (about 25 cm tall, 3.5 kg), simple to use and well liked by UK owners, and it is often discounted to around half its £99 list price. The compromises: a 0.6 L tank that needs frequent refilling, very low spout clearance (standard mugs often need the drip tray removed), and lock-in to pricier Vertuo pods that are mostly bought online. There is no milk frother or hot water function. It suits one or two people with little worktop space who want convenient black coffee or espresso; larger households may prefer the Vertuo Next. Long-term reliability data was not available.
Strengths
Very compact footprint (about 25 x 14 x 43 cm, 3.5 kg), easy to fit in small kitchens or under cabinets.
One-touch, capsule-code-driven brewing with automatic capsule ejection and a quick heat-up; owners find it fast and easy.
Rich, smooth coffee with thick crema that a hands-on review rated equal to pricier Vertuo machines.
Show all (5)
Several cup sizes from espresso to large mug and cold brew, a 2-year UK guarantee and automatic software updates.
Frequently discounted, including in De'Longhi's own UK store, which makes it an inexpensive way into the Vertuo system.
Things to consider
A small 0.6 L water tank gives about two mug-size drinks before a refill.
Only about 8.6 cm under the spout, so standard mugs need the drip tray removed or the machine raised.
Locked to Vertuo capsules: no ground coffee, no hot water, no built-in milk frothing, and pods are pricier and mostly bought online.

Published specs are unreliable, even on the manufacturer's UK page, so figures such as a 1.1 L or 1.5 L tank should be ignored.
Who is it for, and who is it not for?
Good for
Singles or couples with limited worktop space who want simple one-touch black coffee or espresso.
Buyers already happy with Vertuo pods who want the cheapest, smallest Vertuo machine.
May not suit
Households making many mugs a day; the small tank needs constant refilling.
People who want milk drinks without buying a separate frother, or who want ground coffee or supermarket pods.
Anyone who wants to use tall standard mugs without removing the drip tray.
It is about 25 cm tall, 14 cm wide and 43 cm deep, and weighs about 3.5 kg. Trusted Reviews says it is much smaller than other Vertuo machines and more likely to fit under a wall cabinet.
UK retailers, Which? and Trusted Reviews give a 0.6 L tank: two mug-size (230 ml) drinks or at least four smaller ones per fill. De'Longhi UK's technical data says 1.1 L, which does not match the UK machine as tested.
Trusted Reviews measured only 86 mm under the spout with the drip tray in place. None of the reviewer's standard mugs fitted, so the tray had to be removed. The drip tray has a single position and only clips in.
One-touch brewing: the machine reads each capsule's code, sets the brew and spins the capsule at up to 7,000 rpm (Centrifusion). It ejects the capsule automatically. De'Longhi gives a 30-second heat-up.
It works only with Nespresso Vertuo capsules, with no hot water or hot chocolate option and no built-in milk frother. Trusted Reviews notes it cannot use the Carafe Pour-Over Style capsules.
De'Longhi UK lists five cup sizes (espresso, double espresso, gran lungo, mug/coffee, cold brew) from three capsule sizes. Currys and Amazon list six, from a 25 ml ristretto to a 355 ml large mug.
De'Longhi says Bluetooth and Wi-Fi keep the machine updated automatically. Trusted Reviews found the app useful for error messages and descaling prompts, since the machine only flashes a red light; the app does not control brewing.
Complaints in the sampled Argos reviews: Vertuo pods are expensive and only sold online, the tank is small, mugs do not fit under the spout without raising the machine, and one owner found the coffee not very hot.
UK retailers list a 2-year manufacturer guarantee; Currys says it applies to domestic use only. De'Longhi offers product registration to secure the warranty.
Even the manufacturer's UK data is inconsistent. De'Longhi UK lists 120 V / 60 Hz, a 1.1 L tank and Pour-Over/Alto drinks, which don't fit a UK Vertuo Pop. Retailers disagree on tank size (0.6 L, 560 ml, 1.5 L) and power (1260, 1350, 1500 W). The 0.6 L tank is backed by four retailers, Which? and a hands-on review.
De'Longhi says the machine is made from 35% recycled plastic. It also lists an eco mode that powers off after 2 minutes, and capsules can be recycled through Nespresso's free scheme.

UK owners mostly like the Vertuo Pop for its small footprint, one-button simplicity and quick, consistent coffee. Several say it beats coffee-shop drinks. The recurring complaints are practical: Vertuo pods cost more and are only sold online, the water tank needs frequent refilling, and the low spout means standard mugs don't fit without removing the drip tray or raising the machine. One owner found drinks not very hot, and one thought the coffee only 'decent'. Bundle buyers value the Aeroccino frother for milky drinks.

Bought this as a replacement for our 10 year old Nespresso machine. Vertuo system is very clever and allows greater customisation and creativity, and the taste is miles better than the old pods - luxurious crema, fast pre-heat and consistent great coffee shop style coffees.

Purchased this coffee machine to replace one that was malfunctioning. Works well. Only criticism is that as it's shorter (work top to filter nozzle) have had to elevate it to get mugs under spout so drop tray is redundant.

It’s a fantastic piece of equipment. If you crème da la crème than this machine is not for you. Makes decent coffee. 7/10

I bought this machine because Argos states the tank on the back takes 1.5litres of water however after purchasing it becomes apparent that is very untrue as the tank only hold 500ml which has I known from the beginning I would not of purchased as that is a small tank. …

I bought this recently, very easy to use, design is good and looks very stylish, my only concern is the water doesn't heat up really hot, it's more of a instant drink, the Nespresso pods are also quite expensive and are only available from its own website.

Bought for my daughter and son-law as a gift they really like it good value for money especially the milk frother was an added bonus they do think the coffee pods are strong so trying to find milder coffee pods the only downfall is you cant buy pods in supermarket only online.

Nespresso Vertuo Pop Coffee and Espresso Machine - Honest Review
The Nespresso Vertuo Pop is a compact, stylish coffee machine that heats up in approximately 30 seconds and brews five different cup sizes. It consistently delivers delicious coffee with a thick, velvety crema layer and features recyclable aluminium pods. While ongoing pod costs can be fairly pricey, it offers great everyday convenience and performance for espresso and coffee lovers.
Nespresso Vertuo POP vs Vertuo NEXT vs Vertuo PLUS - Which is the best?
The Nespresso Vertuo Pop is a compact single-serve coffee machine that brews five different sizes of hot and cold beverages with rich crema. While its compact footprint results in a smaller water tank, limited cup clearance, and a small capsule waste container, its solid build quality and smooth manual locking mechanism make it a strong improvement over the Vertuo Next.
Nespresso Vertuo POP Review: Pros and cons and how to use it!
The Nespresso Vertuo Pop is a compact, affordable pod machine that brews a versatile range of cup sizes and produces a thick, rich crema. However, its small water tank requires frequent refilling, the pods are more expensive and limited to Nespresso's distribution, and the locking lid can feel stiff. Overall, it offers great value and creamy coffee, especially if purchased at a discounted price.
