The Arzum Okka OK001 is a 710 W automatic Turkish coffee machine that brews and pours one or two cups directly, with a quick mode, a slow 4-5 minute mode, altitude-based boiling detection and an automatic rinse cycle.
The Arzum Okka OK001 is a 710 W automatic Turkish coffee machine that brews and pours one or two cups directly, with a quick mode, a slow 4-5 minute mode, altitude-based boiling detection and an automatic rinse cycle. Buyers mostly praise the authentic taste, the foam, the easy cleaning and the elegant look. The trade-offs are the two-small-cup limit and a few reports of leaking, dead-on-arrival units and trim finish flaws. It suits regular Turkish coffee drinkers who want hands-off, consistent results for one or two people. It is less suited to anyone serving larger groups or wanting milk drinks. Major UK chains do not stock it; it is sold via Amazon, the UK distributor and independent shops. No independent lab test was found, so long-term reliability rests on a small number of owner reports.
Strengths
Fully automatic brewing that pours foam and coffee straight into the cups, with a quick mode and a slower traditional-style mode.
Coffee taste and foam are the most consistently praised aspects in owner reviews.
Automatic rinse/self-cleaning makes daily maintenance easy, according to several owners.
Show all (5)
UK stock comes with a 3-pin plug and a 2-year warranty from the UK distributor.
Compact, elegant design, and at least one owner reports years of trouble-free daily use.
Things to consider
Makes only one or two small cups per brew, and cups must be small to fit under the spouts.
Isolated reports of leaking, units that would not power on or calibrate, and paint flaws on the trim.
Turkish coffee only: no milk or other drink functions.
Show all (5)
Listing data for capacity and dimensions is inconsistent, and there is no independent test.
Not sold by major UK chains, so availability depends on Amazon, the distributor and small shops.
Who is it for, and who is it not for?
Good for
Daily Turkish coffee drinkers who want authentic, foamy coffee with no stove-watching.
Small households or offices brewing one or two cups at a time.
May not suit
Serving several guests at once: it brews at most two small cups per cycle.
Anyone wanting milky Turkish coffee or other hot drinks from the same machine.
Use on North American 120 V mains with a converter: a UK unit failed to calibrate this way.
Amazon UK lists the black/copper machine with model name and number OK001, manufacturer Arzum and GTIN 08693184950234, and the white machine with model and part number OK001-W and GTIN 08693184950241. UK shops use SKUs OK001B and OK001W with the same EANs.
Arzum says the machine replicates traditional brewing at the push of a button. Its 'lift-to-brew' and 'direct-to-cup' features pour the coffee with its foam and grounds straight into the cups, and auto boiling temperature detection adjusts to geographical location.
There are two brewing speeds: normal brewing in about 1-2 minutes and a slow-brew mode of about 4-5 minutes. Cup-size selection and a self-cleaning function are also included.
The machine pours directly into one or two cups per brew rather than into a pot. Listings describe it as a 2-cup machine, and a UK reviewer notes it can only make two cups at a time.
UK stock from the distributor Coffee Talks and independent UK shops has a 3-pin UK plug, runs on 220-240 V and carries a 2-year warranty. An import reseller states only a 1-year brand warranty.
Reviewers find it easy to operate, including staff in a coffee shop. They report a quick mode of about a minute and a slower mode of 3-5 minutes that tastes like stove-made coffee.
Isolated reports describe units that would not work. One unit never finished its initial altitude calibration on a US step-up converter and was replaced with a US version. Another UK buyer of the OK001B says the power did not work.
In a 2019 Home-Barista thread on the original Okka, an owner praised the programming logic and safety cut-offs (lid sensor, drip-tray float, low-water stop). He said it is nearly foolproof as long as cups are in place, though he had brewed into the drip tray a couple of times. Other posters doubted the build quality for the price.
Argos, Currys and John Lewis do not list Arzum Okka machines. In the UK the OK001 is sold through Amazon.co.uk (by Amazon and by distributor Coffee Talks), Coffee Talks on eBay, and independent shops.
Black/silver and white/silver versions are coded OK002B/OK002W. Amazon UK presents the OK002 as a newer version, and UK shops sell it as a colour option of the same machine. These versions are currently unavailable or sold out at the shops checked.
Retail listings disagree on capacity (1 litre vs 800 ml) and voltage (220 V vs 230 V), and the Amazon dimension figures are implausibly small. Exact tank capacity and dimensions are therefore unconfirmed.
New UK prices checked range from £209.90 at independent shops through £214.90 on eBay (Coffee Talks) and £219.90 on Amazon.co.uk to £483.66 from an import reseller.

Owners mainly praise the coffee itself: authentic, well-foamed Turkish coffee made at the push of a button. Some say the slow mode tastes like coffee brewed on a stove. Many value the automatic rinse cycle, the simple controls and the compact, elegant look, and one owner reports years of daily use without a fault. Complaints are fewer but specific: coffee leaking from the top, units that would not power on or finish their first calibration, paint flaws on the bronze trim, and the limit of two small cups per brew. A few buyers see it as pricey but worth it for daily Turkish coffee drinkers.

I bought this 8 years ago. Since then I've used it multiple times every day. It makes amazing coffee. I'm really happy with it. I've managed to drop a heavy lump of metal on it twice (don't ask) and today I dropped it down the stairs. It is still working. Incredible. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it. I can't praise it enough.

This is one of the best Amazon purchased I have ever made, superb quality, makes coffee exactly how is should be enjoyed, I was a little worried about paying this high price but so worth it, money well spent and a great product to have in my office.

This machine is perfect, I bought it to use in my Coffeeshop and i always get very good feedback from my client, also it’s very easy use, so all my staff are comfortable with it, it has 2 options, first one is for quick coffee takes about a minute, second option takes about 3-4 minutes giving same taste like the one made under fire, however both options are great. Do not need to make full spoon of coffee, you can reduce it which will be better.

Great coffee maker for Turkish Coffee, Even cleaning / rinsing cycle after brewing 2-4 cups. Can slow or fast brew easy to make cups in central brewing chamber. Water chamber for brewing and cleaning cycles. also dispenses coffee into cups instead of having to transfer manually. Good d value for convenience and versatility though moderately expensive, but if you like your Turkish coffee conveniently prepared, this does the job admirably.

Packaging is excellent. The machine looks elegant and beuatiful. It produces the best ever Turkish coffee. The temperature is just right. I am impressed and highly recommend it. If you like unfiltered and real coffee this machine is for you.
R*** G***5/514 February 2015AmazonBlack/Copper; reviewer used the UK unit in the USA
I can't really rate the machine fairly because I could never get it to complete the initial cycle of calculating the boiling point per altitude. It got part way into the cycle, and then reverted to all blinking lights, which, according to page 18 of the manual, indicates it's no longer a functional appliance. … I even purchased a step-up power converter of 2000 watts … [UPDATED: Apr 12 2016]
True to their word, I just received a USA version of the coffeemaker and couldn't be more pleased. Thanks to Arzum Okka for great customer service.

If you drink turkish coffee more than twice a day, this products is just made for you, cleans itself, makes the coffee in less than 2 min, slow cooking in 5 min, reliable, and most importantly easy to use, and the size is just small and beautiful, not that big, only issue perhaps is that you need to have very small cup size to fit it perfectly.

Incredible machine. Love the foam it creates on top of the cup. Easy to operate and no worries about cleaning it inside as it does that automatically. Excellent seller too, who shipped it fast and delivered on time. 10 Stars indeed. Extra 5 for excellence.
